Yeah, sudden scene change here. Guess you'll have to wait with bated breath to see just what becomes of our heroes.

For now, though, let's focus on another potential hero! Remember McCay from back in chapter four? Turns out something is coming of that? Where is his story going from here? Well... be awhile before you find that out, but here's the start of the set-up at least. Stay tuned for more!

Ughhh... God, I gotta get to class.... Okay, yeah, now something completely different. ^^

Gonna admit, sometimes I get a tad envious on Wright As Rayne's story arc format. I'm very happy with the more episodic format of Blues, but I would like to try story arcs of that nature down the line. With this being done around the time the Power storyline in WaR was wrapping up, I wanted to try my hand on it.

Still will probably be episodic for the most part, but McCay's going to lead to something sorta big and wanted to give him some proper build-up.

For the other note.... Dr. Genight, the bloke in the third panel, is a long-time figure that's gone through some really major changes over the course of planning the comic. Pleased with what we have now but might be worth going into sometime later when he shows up.

Could this be an origin story for how the Blue Blood Pandemic started?

Heh... No, this is happening in present-day. McCay appeared in an earlier chapter seen here-

I am getting a this is something that almost never ends well vibe from this and did the gov. want Alex to be a test subject for this project?

Yeah, idea was that Alex was sort of considered for possibly being involved in the project. More than likely he would probably have mostly been charged with helping to perfect the training of whoever got the job itself, but he passed and he wasn't given most details about the job beforehand, so not much direct involvement there.

Mostly included that detail just to kind of help set this up though, yeah, and to give McCay an early appearance of sorts. Not really likely to come up in any meaningful way from this point.
