Ah, that takes care of the crowd, now we can start our Superhero action! Time for Fortress to learn the penalty for acting like this in Stonewall.

When I was playing Earthbound for the first time as a kid, about halfway through I got annoyed by how Ness had this devastating physical attack, higher than anyone else by far, but terribly accuracy. It really drove me nuts, to the point where I actually called the Nintendo hotline about it (yeah, remember that?). Actually, I think I called about something else in the game and they brought it up in passing. They asked if he was using the Casey Bat, a weapon that has great attack power but terrible accuracy, and explained the reference to me.

Yeah, Fortress naming his gun "Casey" was a reference to the poem. Joke is that the gun is powerful but Fortress has the accuracy of a Stormtrooper. Him being a terrible shot was an early idea but I tried to justify it; guns with that kind of firing power can be difficult to aim due to recoil. Actually, given how big Casey is, it's astonishing the recoil doesn't break Darkskull's arm when he holds it like that. Or at the very least fly out of his hand.

Speaking of references, Darkskull must subconsciously be a Brony. And while Ponies are the manliest thing ever, he's probably the kind of guy who'd deny it if you asked him, so he gets no points in my book for it. We can't be ashamed. Also, the line "pony in bad need of a curry-comb and a brush" is a particularly narmful line from a Western movie I'm sorta like of called El Dorado.

No, no, he's just a huge fan of Brawndo, the Thirst Mutilator. Incidentally, was checking to make sure I had the source of that joke right and even specifically looking for the words, "Pony made of chainsaws," (not in parentheses in-context) gets you My Little Pony stuff before it gets you a reference to that.

But yeah, pretty happy with this one. Adam helped in wrapping this one up, though I tweaked it in some respects after the fact. Is fun seeing that thing with Grant wearing his costume underneath his clothes again, kind of a fun habit of his and if you were a superhero tell me you wouldn't do the same.

About all I've got to say I think, but hope everyone likes!

Casey is definitely a girl gun- she don't got a trigger! Why is that?

There does look to be some sort of panel on the inside of the gun's handle, could be it shoots via button or something.

Oh yeah Darkskull is all kinds of crazy and is Val not with the other five?

Right, she mentioned back toward the start of the chapter she was going to hang out with Heather for the day.

I hope jenny's being carful, i get the feeling Darkskull will knee a child in the face and not give a damn

On a side note, from the fear in jenny's voice, is this the first time soneones been shooting at them with a gun gun, not a laser appenage?

Heheh... Honestly, I think she's more concerned that he's shooting into a crowd. ^^ Also.... It's not an appendage, but it's still a gun that shoots lasers (stolen from the evidence locker following a superhero case) so not sure if that counts as a gun-gun.
