Heheh.... This page was a massive pain to draw. While McCay's nonstandard eyes are great at expressing, bitterness, depression, or homicidal rage, it's really hard to get them to work on other emotions as well. Thus, I had to re-draw his face several times here. Drove me nuts.

Not sure what else to say about this one, though. It's another page that really speaks for itself for the most part, in particular the last two panels. Those did a great job showing how far-gone McCay had become and how bad everything he'd been through was, but not much else to say about it.

Jeez, the first panel came out looking really painful, didn't it?

One small thing I'm curious if anyone's noticed, though it's most obvious here - had McCay's eyes changed color after he became blue. Mostly that was a convenience thing with them being bloodshot, but I did kind of rationalize it to myself that screwing with someone's DNA might have some small side-effects along that line. Particularly given there were other, more major screw-ups involved.

But yeah, that ends this fight. Of course, there's still some aftermath to deal with so we're not finished with the chapter just yet, but we should be wrapping up in a couple weeks. Which means we really need to do the next cover...

Anyway, yeah. I'm not sure what all else I have to say on this one, but I hope everyone enjoys and we'll see you for more on Wednesday!

Looks like the kid's heroic hearts were able to banish the darkness that had engulfed McCays heart.
