Mannnn, I feel weird doing this.

Okay, disclaimer, I have no personal feelings against organized religions and am myself a Christian. This comic isn't going to turn into some thinly-veiled, mean-spirited attack of religious figures. I hate when stories get brainlessly political with liberal use of Straw Men, ESPECIALLY super-hero comics. Seriously, I seen suddenly-political superhero stories quite a bit and it only worked once. And that was because it was self-aware about its own message (Grant Morrison's Animal Man run if you're curious).

In fact, I'm gonna try and not get political at all in the comic; the only purpose is to tell good stories and I try to keep my own political beliefs far, far away from the content.

That said, I'm not a member of the Muslim faith and have neither met an Imam or walked into a mosque (I live in a moderately-sized town that also happens to be Catholic like you wouldn't believe). I asked my sister for information on an inter-faith dinner she attended in Little Rock, but it wasn't much help.

I tried to get a more complete picture with the information available online, but all know that can't really give a complete picture. I did find some online sermons given by Imams explaining the Muslim dress-code (immediately after drawing this page with Imam Sahir in a waistcoat, so I had to go back and fix it), and tried to draw the Mosque in accordance to various pictures I've found of their interiors and exteriors.

If there's a reader who knows more about the Muslim faith and if we've done anything to mis-represent it, even in terms of something minor, let us know and we'll see what we can do to fix it. I really don't want to mess this up.

Sooooo.... Yeah, long disclaimer, just wanted to make all that clear. Like I said, I really, really don't want to get political in this comic and this is the closest we've come this far. Sometimes me and Martin do use extremist versions of certain political movements as villains (we both have versions of that in waiting for future chapters) but it's not trying to make any sort of statement. It's just because they make good bad guys. Same thing with Martina being a cult leader. It works for a supervillain.

That rabbi is partly drawn after the one from my sister's temple. I say "partly" because several months ago I asked her to show me a picture of him and just tried to memorize what he looked like for when this chapter finally went up. Again, was months ago and I only saw the picture for a minute so entirely going off memory here.

But yeah, love seeing Martina again. The fog she enters with looks especially good in the new coloring style.

I already typed my comments once earlier, but Comic Fury having technical issues made me lose them. Then Comic Fury's issues also caused me to be two hours late in doing it again.

Anyway, Martina's back! Not for long though - she's largely out of the way for most of this chapter so far. Still, the next page is also centered around her, so she's not going to vanish again just yet. Fortunately after this scene she switches outfits to one that's much easier to color.

Not sure what all else I have to say on this one. Most of what I typed up earlier was just kind of a side tangent... Though that being said, if you missed when I added a note on it, be sure to take a look at Black Princess on Friday as it'll be its third anniversary so we'll have a year four preview for the occasion.

Hm, there is one thing. You might notice I lightened up Franklin's hair a bit, little more of a sandy blond as opposed to the red it was before. Not too radical a difference or anything, but hey, it's something worth commenting on. Naturally he and Martina both have completely new palettes (well, Martina's is in part recycled from a recent pic of her) so it's not really that remarkable - I'm about as embarrassed by the early colors as Adam is by the early art.

This is not going to end well, and is Franklin a human with super-strength or something else?
