Heh. I love how comedic Jenny looks when slipping on ice. I didn't notice until just now submitting this how funny-looking that wound up being.

But yeah, Jake "killing" Orion was something I'd planned on from the beginning. Kinda fit with Jake's character, plus I liked the idea of him punching him, the force of the punch knocking him back and allowing Jake to pull out his sword, and then using said sword to stab him in the heart.

Really, as a kid it bugged the heck out of me how Orion was weilding a club but not a sword. I guess the stars at the end of his right hand were just too thick to realistically be a sword, hence when the dim ones around his belt wound up being a sheath.

Think I originally had Jake saying "Gotcha" in the last panel but felt really off coming from him so didn't get put in. On a related subject, finally feel comfortable letting the Blues kids call each other by their superhero names. Before it felt really unnatural, so in battle they'd still use their normal names but now it feels... right. ^^

Here are Martin's Comments:
Huh, actually never got the PNG for this page. And I can't check the MS files since the computer I had them on went down. Guess I'm going off the script then. Well, and memory, remember farming colors from this one a lot for later pages. Now, what've I got then...

Offhand, we should really touch more on the Jake sword thing at some point. Besides this, we already saw back in the first chapter that he owns one. Guess he just doesn't bring it along since he doesn't want to impale people in front of kids. Star people being a reasonable exception I guess.

Anyone who only reads Blues been brushing up on Wright as Rayne? Crossover starts in just a few weeks. Granted, it's kind of written to stand on its own and is more a Blues story than anything, but it still certainly wouldn't hurt to get caught up on WaR before it starts.

Actually not very long left to go in this fight scene, though kind of feels like it given where things stand now and how busy things to come are. Hopefully everyone enjoys what all is to come.

Okay that is just EPIC and this certainly shows that the heroic fire in Jake's heart burns as strongly and brightly as the kids.

Dang. Grabbing someone's sword and stabbing them with it. Does he get to keep it?

Given Orion melts away when he "dies" and the sword is aprt of the same construct, probably not. ^^
