Yeah, here's where the cover was lying like I said back when we posted it - Valerie and Jenny won't be joining us for the superheroics. Not that we won't be seeing them though, as we'll still be occasionally cutting to the center to see them and Xandy.

I'm sure Adam can get into the specifics on why it went that way, though it's pretty easy to get the rationale of it.

Yeah... So, I don't really know what all I have to say on this page. It is pretty much all-dialogue and all, and I didn't have a lot of actual input on it. I dunno, am happy with the page though.

Next page, we see Alex!

I really didn't realize just how much dialog was in those first two panels, so wound up embarrassed when I had to put it in.

But that's right kids; if someone on the internet tells you to come meet them IRL, always tell your parents or someone you trust. They might call the cops or they might get a baseball bat and go to town on the guy's knees, but make sure they know.

But yeah, Val and Jenny are staying behind. The reasoning for it is kinda clear, and during the cutbacks to the center we're gonna see a little bit more of their character revealed. That's one thing I wanted to do with the Blues kids in the chapter; delve into certain feelings they have that are brought out by Xandy's arrival. I wanted the crossover chapter to be kinda meaningful.

But yeah, am very fond of Valerie's lines here. One thing I really like about Blues In The Night is the scale. After that chapter came out, it really felt like the comic had jumped up a level and become bigger and more meaningful. Like she says, after stopping McCay they saved the city from a giant blizzard. The conflict we're getting in this chapter isn't quite as major but.... It's no small potatoes.

Yay Alex and the kids are finally going to meet, wonder how Alex is going to show Jake he's their friend and not an enemy.

Isn't Grant supposed to be eight? Unless there's a two-year timeskip I was unaware of...

..... No, Grant's always been ten. I can't think of any mention of him being otherwise. Age of the kids has been pretty much set since day one (Val's 12, Grant's 10, Jenny's 8, Andy's 7, Lore and Nicky are both 6). Did we get it wrong and say he was eight at some point?

Yeah. I think you lumped the oldest three together at one point. And figures Val is the oldest.
