YES! Here they are in full; the new faces for our Blue Blood Heroes!

Actually looking back on these I find them sorta wonky. At least in comparison to how they look in practice; flow much more naturally in the coming pages. Anyway, in general, because of the limited templates I felt I had with the kid faces, I had to toy with body structure and the like more than any of the WaR/BP re-desgins (at least up to the point when we did this). In general....

Lore is definitely the one least changed, but she does have a rounder, more infantile face and the fact that she's the shortest member of the group is emphasized better in the coming pages. Little else to say.

Nicky... Our friend Jimmy did some fanart of him way, way back as a Christmas gift (am sure I posted it here one year) that had Nicky being rather chubby. Thought it would be an interesting effect to physically distinguish him; not anywhere close to the extent shown by Jimmy, but a sord of pudge makes him look squishy and soft; fitting a hero named Putty. Also, his hairstyle was tweaked so it'd be easier to draw consistently.

Andy, meanwhile, had gotten way skinnier. This was the idea for him since day one; make him really scrawny and spindly, just only now is it coming out. Face is longer too, with a much sharper jaw. Also, we finally toned down the hair so it doesn't jut outward into the air like a cliffside.

Jenny's body type was twisted a bit to emphasize the overly-developed leg muscles. Her top half was made daintier and softer, while her legs were bulked up to look thicker and more dangerous. They were always too long proportionately, but was afraid that would make me look sloppy. With them bulked out and bulging, there should be no confusion.

Grant was given a kind of budding heroic build, with muscles starting to form but not looking that bulky. Don't imagine him ever having a build like Superman or Alex as an adult, but staying lean and tight, just precluded here. Still a bit scrawny too, of course.

Valerie is the one who changed the most of the kids for a few different reasons. The main change is her shoulders are broader with tougher-looking arms, idea being that the energy she stores inside her body bulks her just slightly. She also has narrower eyes instead of the wide ones most of her teammates have, showing she has a slightly different outlook on things. Learning to not be afraid to shrink down the eyes is something re-designing has taught me.

Jake, meanwhile, has been roughed up a bit; trying to make him look a bit less handsome and more rougish and beaten around. Odd enough a go-to point on his design was Harrison Ford (imagined Jake having the same voice). I don't like how stiff he came out in this picture, not a problem going forward, but added the lines to the face and the like to better convey he's had, to put it gently, a tough (and weird) life.

Got, behind on Pages. Will get through some more tonight. Off from school all week! Will try not to spend too much of that time on Smash Brothers. ^^

Awesome, Adam accidentally set this to go up and hour early. I was hoping he did, I'm really tired but didn't want to go to bed before commenting.

First off, that Christmas picture can be found here -

Just in case anybody's curious about it. We really should add those pockets and shoulder bits to Jake's work jacket nowadays, would give it a lot more visual interest and look more professional. Though that's a weird gap between his legs and crotch here, never noticed that before.

But whatever, not talking about that filler, we're talking about this one! Yeah, think Adam pretty well summed up all of what really needed saying. I remember I had to mention the Nicky chubbiness thing in the middle of the call when we were doing this, wasn't really an idea going in. He actually misheard me at first and thought I was saying to try it with Andy. How we go about doing these is late at night when we line it up Adam calls me and we do a private stream just throwing ideas back and forth. Usually drifting off to talking about completely unrelated things for most of it, but still, we do a lot of back-and-forth and figure out what works and what doesn't, I send links to references and throw out ideas or whatever, sometimes edit things and send them to him as pitches for a different approach, whatever. Just in case anyone's curious.

But yeah, not sure what I've got to say here. These really don't look as weird and stilted in motion, we swear. This was done early on in the redesigns when we were still figuring out how to more easily mix up body types and such, we've got a good hang on it now.

Last batch of redesigns we did was also a Blues one, but don't know if that'll be posted as part of this set or not. It had Spencer, Shinobu, Stickset, Lenore, and Heather in it, though, so there's that. It'll be shown at some point, just hard telling when; we didn't know until right before this went up what we were even running tonight, few things to choose from.

I'm surprised you guys didn't mention that today's the release date for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, this looks really wonky, the redesigns will be more apparent in the comic itself.

Heh. I appreciate the honesty. But yeah, it is pretty wonky. I'm gonna need you to bear with us; it looks better in practice.

As for Omega Red and Alpha Sapphire, there were some complicated with Martin getting a copy, so didn't want to bring it up (he's got it now and is currently playing). As for me, I can't really afford it at the moment and not too hyped right not, so probably won't get it for a while. Do have Smash Brothers now.

I'm assuming the reason Jenny's wearing her sneakers is because she has a risk of injuring herself without them by running too fast.

Yeah, she pretty much always has those on, though I suppose it's possible her feet are tough and strong on their own, like her legs. Not sure. Kinda also the reason why she can't run in darkness.
