It's weird, this is probably going to be an instantly memorable page between the various jokes and visuals going on in it, but I'm kind of blanking on much in particular to say about it.

Daredevil effect is always fun though, really like the way it looks here. Feels like we've not seen it in awhile, though the current BP chapter's going to have it going on too.

Also I like that effect of how Jake's arm dropping is depicted. Nice little way of screwing around with the comic medium and taking advantage of stuff only it can do. I'd like to do more of that - something like that came up in the retrospective Adam and I did on the first Wright as Rayne chapter, which you can listen to here -

We're intending to do Blues ones in the future too so couldn't hurt to give it a listen and tell us what you think!

I like a lot of the stuff in this page, especially Lore and Andy. I think you can see just how much losing in the Martina fight and knowing her limitations bothers Lore here, and Andy's picked up on it as is trying to push her through it. That's one thing I like about Andy in general as comic relief; he's not just making jokes for the sake of being funny, but actively trying to keep everyone's spirits up.

I was pretty nervous how this was gonna go, in particular Andy losing control of his momentum and careening off, but fairly happen with the end results. A lot of this idea came from training chapters in various Shonen manga, in particular Negima. Negima's like my favorite manga ever, and one of the more memorable training chapters had him leaning how to Flash Step, so thought it'd work well here.

Those last two lines from Andy and Lore weren't in the script, originally it was supposed to have Jake quipping something about how embarrassing the failure was and Jenny saying the "Good effort?" line. But realized Lore and Andy's failings looked pretty painful (especially Lore faceplanting) so Jake being annoyed by it made him look too mean and insensitive. Instead threw in some lines to show they're not hurt too bad, so facepalming is okay.

Yeah, that whiteboard as a point. ^^ We'll be using that in the future, too. Kinda the idea was that we want to do more sets, so this clearing in the woods might get revisited with a lot of minor touches (Cooler, punching-bag, ect) but given Martin's distaste for drawing wood scenes might need to reconsider that. I'm already setting a future chapter almost entirely in a forest so I'm kinda pushing it.

So yeah, like Martin said, we did a retrospective commentary on the first Wright As Rayne chapter for your listening pleasure. We'll likely do a Blues one down the line too. ^^

Crap, thought I replied... For me, it was Dragonball Z. Kinda the trend-setter to that entire genre of anime.

And oddly I say this after last night my cousin gives me some DBZ merch as a Christmas gift and we discuss how well it held up. Weird.
