I remember when Adam was writing this one, he asked me what sorts of questions I'd ask of someone in this sort of position. The big one that came to mind was questioning just why exactly people should pay much mind to some superhero among many being unveiled just because he had a lot of powers and was government-endorsed. So, got to explore that a little here.

Kind of funny this page is the one going up tonight, given just a little bit ago I had to dig it up because some of the extras in this page show up in a different, unrelated one I colored earlier. Also at a press conference so yeah, expect more of those.

Man, actually, have a lot of those going on in the comics right now. One's serving as the central plot of WaR, BP's had news coverage of the Manslaughter thing, but this chapter and the next Blues one have stuff with the press, last WaR chapter had O'Hara crashing one... Little weird.

Yeah, I noticed the press conference thing too, it's weird. Not planned for anything, just all went up at once. Bizarre.

Eheh... Anyway, really owe Martin for setting this one up; totally slipped my mind since I was at Cyphacon. I'm gonna be here today on Saturday too, so if anybody's in Lake Charles, swing by and look for me. I'll be Cosplaying as The Scarecrow from Batman. ^^

So yeah, just felt addressing concerns was probably something that would've been fun to try. Probably would've done more of these had the chapter not lost interest to me so much. Main point in this page are the cameos.

Fans of Watchmen will probably recognize the magazine "New Frontiersman", and in case you don't, it's reporter Hector Godfrey (looked up the name) is also wearing a Smiley-face button. Gale Craven is a pretty obvious reference to Gale Weathers, the reporter from Wes Craven's horror series Scream. For the other bloke, Robert Jennings I tried to get him to look vaguely similar to Ben Urich from the Marvel 'verse, but didn't come out even close. I mostly see Ben as stressed out and on edge because of Daredevil: Born Again, so Jennings wound up looking pretty nervous.

I feel like now would be a good time to talk about the direct inspiration for Marvelous Man and what movement in comic books made me wanna do this story arc, but think these comments are long enough. Maybe next time. ^^

Well, while he wasn't so humble, hardly anyone is at a press conference and he did handle the questions rather well.
You notice herr doctor (Sorry, but i'm just going to see that head scientist guy as the evil doctor from reboot from now on) was quick to jump in where needed.

So can they pick what powers he'll gain or is it all just a crap shoot?

Actually kinda glad someone in the comments is giving Marvelous Man a break. It IS a press conference, yeah. ^^

But no, they determined very closely what powers he'd have, they didn't just pour a bunch of Blues powers into him and see what happened.
