So for those keeping track, the comic about adult superheroes is the one where we've got goofy dress-up shenanigans in a costume store, the comic with kid superheroes is the one where we see somebody being hanged.

Not sure what all I really have to say on this one offhand personally, but hoping everyone enjoys it. Do like getting to see this place in a more relaxed setting via the flashbacks here, just show it off and really set the stage for just what sort of danger is truly awaiting here.

Think that's all I've really got. Hard to focus in on this page when pretty much immediately before I started uploading this I finished up coloring a different one, my thoughts are more on that one. Still, do hope everyone enjoys, and is sure to swing by Saturday for more.

Speaking of, new My Little Pony on Saturday, woo! About time!

Yeah, once the decision was made to have Antlers' face always obscured this was how I planned to finally have it revealed. The idea was that once we finally see it he's actually got this kindly, gentle Grandpa look to him. I should've had that panel be a zoom-in on his face to see it better and help convey that, but eh.

I really loved writing this page. This kind of dialog is pretty common in Grant Morrison stories; making reference to weird concepts in very quick passing without explaining what they exactly mean. "Celestial-awareness" is something he'd totally bring up. I think I had a good excuse in him not explaining things very clearly because of the whole tree thing. That's one weird trend I got a lot of mileage out of here, him describing his elements like his roots and canopy as if they were limbs.

I like the explanation for how Salix is able to talk is just that he can "speak to all entities in their own language". That's it. I know a lot of the stuff with Salix is vague but again, trying to give the character an air of mystery and awe. Otherwise it'd just come off as silly.

And also, yeah, I know this "Backstory" we're getting leaves a LOT of stuff unexplained (Like "How does tree learn magics") but we'll get to that down the line.

Okay this is getting more and more bizarre and animals really are better at sensing evil than humans.

I think it's just learning. A lot die when they stumble into the glen so they just get smart enough to avoid it.
