It's weird how the big "Aw, crud" ace-in-the-hole (Well, one of them) is just one huge reference to another webcomic. The idea of having one of the most dangerous weapons in Salix's arsenal be a coyote was a nod to Gunnerkrigg Court, wherein the Native American Coyote God is always slinking around making trouble. Kinda curious what Martin thought coloring this since references like this are always weird ground to tread.

I'm kinda curious where the coyote came from.... Outside of the reference. It didn't occur to me until drawing it but.... Was this just a regular coyote corpse Salix made huge with his magic? Was it already a gigantic coyote that Salix killed and whose corpse he reanimated? I genuinely don't know and now I kinda want to.

Should mention that when Salix says he's "Peerless in the art of magick," I.... don't think he's joking. Pretty sure in this universe he's likely as good as he claims. This isn't even him using the full heft of his power. Hence why things are so bleak at the moment.

.... Yeah. How ARE they gonna get out of this?

Not sure how much I've got to say on this one offhand. The coyote thing is... Yeah, little different.

I dunno, I probably wouldn't have personally gone with a reference of this sort, which is likely why coloring it I was more going for a regular coyote than looking like Coyote from Gunnerkrigg Court, look more normal and like it belongs in this world. Which I guess isn't really necessary when the thing's giant but still.

Yeah, kind of all I've got offhand. Situation's getting rather dire, wonder where things will go next?

The situation's getting worse and bleaker with every page, the light of hope seems a long time in coming.

..... Wow. That's bleak. I feel genuinely really bad about the turn this chapter's taken now.

...Cue boss battle Music change.. like you know how you're fighting a boss, then shit gets serious and the music changes to reflect that..thats what would happen here

Traditionally, super beings are defeated by one of two things: overconfidence/arrogance, a killer weakness (aka dues ex machina), or the metaphorical bigger fish. In this case, I'm betting overconfidence. Salix might be a super powerful magical tree, but it's still a tree, and tree's die.

Heh. Zorua, that you? ^^

But all good guesses, we'll have to see how things go. He does seem to be under the impression he's immortal, stating that he can survive through eons of time.
