Happy Halloween, folks! ^^

Yeah, kinda settled in that it'd be Star Wars after we did last years' picture. Just hyping things up for December's return of the franchise. ^^ Main hold-up was actually thinking of seven people in the main roster for them to go as. I felt kinda apprehensive about having Nicky go as R2, until I remembered that as a kid he was easily my favorite character in the movies.

One of my favorite bits of these every year is that they somehow convince Jake to dress up in costume too. ^^ I seriously considered having him in a beard like Alec Guinness in this picture, largely because I wanna know how he's look with one, but held out on it.

I'm genuinely not sure what to do for next year's picture.... Avengers are still an option... Star Trek's good, though all-uniforms might be kinda weird. Wolfintina suggested Final Fantasy which I was never into, but Chrono Trigger would be good.... Pokemon's ripe for it (full team of six with Jake as a trainer). Heh. If there's anything you guys can think of, lemme know. ^^ Trying to make a list.

This is a weird one for me to comment on, given my involvement with the Halloween stuff tends to be minimal besides doing the coloring and I'm not a Star Wars fan.

Did have kind of a funny moment yesterday, though, on checking Misfile and seeing it did basically the same thing for its Halloween filler this year. Had an, "Ugh, really?" kind of feel to it given we've been planning for this thing for over a year.

Well this is interesting, what about Dragon Quest or Breath of Fire or Harvest Moon or Persona or Earthbound.

Heheh... Appreciate the suggestions, but out of that lot, the only ones I've played any of are Harvest Moon and Earthbound. The former doesn't quite work due to most of the costumes being fairly mundane and not recognizable....

I'm... Kinda really on board with Earthbound, though. ^^ Think I'd have to borrow from Mother 3 to boot a full set of Seven but Earthbound's gotta be one of my favorite games. And probably a decent influence on Blues to boot.

Pokemon is definately a shot.

Chrono Trigger might go over people's heads a little, since while it's a popular game, there are still people out there who wouldn't get it. though, Jake would definitely need to be Magus.

But I really like the pokemon idea.

Yeah, know it's a bit obscure but think it's not too hard to come up with options for each of the kids.... Starting with, as you said, Jake as Magus. ^^ Gladja like the Pokemon idea, though. Be neat to think up who'd be what, which is often a fun part of doing these every year.

You could also do Fire Emblem and Phoenix Wright, by the way who is Val supposed to be, she's the only one who's costume I don't recognize.

OOO! Yeah, Phoenix Wright's great! ^^ Lots of colorful characters in that one.

Val's meant to be Lando; he wasn't in the first Star Wars movie, only showing up in the two sequels (not the prequel trilogy, thankfully). Admittedly felt a little weird doing that one since because of his late arrival I have trouble thinking of him as one of the main gang from the films. But I needed a full cast of seven, so it was either that or 3PO.

TMNT is an option.
Farscape, guardians of the galaxy and GI Joe could have interesting costumes.
Hotel Transylvania and how to train your dragon are more likely though.

To be honest, not really behind many of those options... Hotel Transylvania might work in the sense of having them all be classic movie monsters. That'd be pretty fun. ^^ Guardians of the Galaxy could work pretty nicely too.

That said... it IS pretty easy to picture Jake dressed up as Casey Jones.
Onasaki 1st Nov 2015, 10:39 AM edit delete reply
Farscape is way too obscure for kids, and even for a good chunk of a an audience. I haven't met a single person who's watched Farscape that wasn't the one who got _me_ into it. XD

But yeah, TMNT is good.

The team from young Justice

Power pack

heh, maybe the Z fighters?
Adam C. 1st Nov 2015, 2:24 AM edit delete reply

Power Pack was a decent impact on Blues so might be fun, and.... Heh... Z Fighters would hit me right in my geek spot.... Not sure about Young Justice, mostly since that feels like it'd be a step down after last year they were the Justice League.
