Y'know, there was a point where I was wondering if we were doing Cold Openings too much, and that was waaaaay back in Spencer's debut chapter. Now if you check more Blues chapters have cold-openings than those that don't. I feel like I should be embarrassed by that, but I'm really not. I love cold openings so much.

Martin was quite a bit of help in writing this page. Gave good insight on how I should play Marvelous Man here, and had the idea of that little trick with Quartz's hand in that very last panel. Really underlined the "Dun Dun duuunnnnnn" of that final sentence.

I do love how in so many comics whenever someone needs to contact a super-hero their only options are "dress up like super-villain and blow stuff up" or "kidnap Lois-Lane-Equivalent." My favorite example of that was a Spider-Man comic where a hitman hired to kill him took the most direct approach possible; drove a bus into the high-school Spidey was rumored to attend, while firing a machine wildly into the air, and screaming "SPIDER-MAN?! ARE YOU THERE?!"

Not sure how much I've got to say on this one offhand, though am happy with it. Does serve as a pretty effective opening to the chapter I think, kind of sets the tone to a degree for what's to come.

As you can see see more Marvelous Man this time around, though isn't going to be front and center for the whole chapter or anything. Still, definitely more involved in this chapter than he was in the previous one.

Think that's really all I've got. Kind of curious where Quartz is making this phonecall from - we see where he's staying later and this isn't it. Eh.

Oh great a wacked out doctor of some kind, whatever he comes up with is not going to be good, and Marvelous Man is already to cocky and overconfident for his own good.
