Happy new year, everyone!

We celebrate with cutting back to the group already. Honestly might've worked a bit better in retrospect posting this page before the last one, with the ending note here being a bit of a foreboding set-up leading to us seeing what exactly's going on with Quartz in the page after. Eh, hindsight I guess. Plus just as well, we'd be cutting back to the group the page after regardless.

Not sure how many readers will recognize it but the guy Spencer's talking to is a cameo of a character from another story Adam and I did. Said story's also been referenced in Black Princess before.

And yeah, the mask subject here is basically what the thought process was. It was decided Valerie just looks better without it, and for Jenny, the mask she had made it hard for her to emote which is quite a hindrance with the sunshiny, huggy, happy-go-lucky one of the group.

Yeah, really doesn't help that Jenny having the crash helmet with the mask on top of it looked really bad in retrospect. But pretty much; just figured some kids needed it for the costume to work and some didn't. Lore looks way better with a mask, I think.

Formatting of this page is all weird. Too much vertical space in that first panel.... But yeah, that character's usually a teenager, so was weird drawing him as an adult. We actually had to discuss what manner of necktie he'd wear.

So yeah, just more reactions to the costumes; that's all. ^^ Lore's complaining about trying to punch with the cloak. ... If you're wondering, the cloak DOES have one, very specific purpose, and we'll see what it is when the action starts in full.
