Originally there were a LOT of pages between the first two panels and the last two. The conversation in the Alleyway went on for a really long time, and it got redundant really fast. It was needlessly dragged out so just before drawing this page I cut like three or four pages of that scene and just had Grant transplant the group onto the rooftop here.

I like the idea of Grant just flying up to the roof with Quartz and Valerie in-tow, and all of the kids have their own method of following them. Lore leaps up in a single bound, Nicky rubber-band-snaps up, Andy essentially does Mario-Style Wall-jumps, and Jenny super-speeds up the stairs. ^^ I kinda miss in the original panel when there was a beat between the three of them settling on the roof and the rest of the kids popping up, but had to compress things.

It's funny, I'm parodying Spider-Man with Quartz, but this idea of "Yeah, I'm just gonna go now" I got from a comic of his. Was fighting Moon Knight and had a moment of clarity when he realized that his fight would do more harm than good and just web-swung away ("Huh. It just occurred to me I can like.... leave."). Whatever, I'm specifically parodying Badly-Written!Spidey with Quartz. When he's well-written I love the webhead.

Not sure how much I've got to say on this one offhand. One thing I do quite like with the Qrime Qure design, though, is how it simultaneously lends itself to comedic expressions and movement, could feasibly come off as threatening, and has this certain sad, sort of broken feel to it. Simplistic design but really great one on Adam's part I think.

And yeah, things were pretty overhauled at this point. Nothing really lost in doing it, just some things tweaked and changed to flow better and pick up the pace a bit. Just a handful of pages really affected by the chance and even then, really not that drastically.

Not sure what else I've got here, pretty tired. Hope everyone enjoys, though!

Jake stared up the side of the building stone-faced for a few seconds before sighing and walking inside to take the elevator.
