That's it for this chapter. ^^ Will say that the anniversary picture, rather than going up on the actual anniversary, will go up Saturday, to occupy the next update slot.

Anyway, yeah. This was, again, the plan going in with Qrime Qure: How much of his backstory was true? If you assume it's all fake, a lot of his motivations stop making sense; he had to have gone through torment to be this concerned about the issue. And the comic confirms he WAS a hero at some point in his past. Did some things happen but not others? Did he exaggerate things or outright lie? If some things didn't happen, which ones? Was he stretching the truth to boost credibility to his cause? If he was lying, was it intentional or is he just nuts? If he's nuts, how much, if any of it came from that suit?

Funnily enough... Even I don't know what's real and I wrote this. Before starting the comic, I wrote a "real" backstory for Quartz, which I wound use as a template to create the fake one he'd use in increasingly-outlandish flashbacks. Then as the comic went underway I realized even my backstory for Quartz had things that didn't add up. I had all these lingering questions when I was supposed to know all the answers with this guy. So even I'm not sure what his deal is anymore.

Martin got in on this too. The kids all exchanging their theories about what was wrong with Quartz was something I also had planned from the start of the chapter. I had a list of differing theories and who suggested each one, and Andy's bit about brain-chemistry wasn't one of them. Martin stated that was the impression he got for the character while the chapter was in progress and made too much sense not to put it forth as a theory.

I kinda wanted to encourage headcanons with Quartz. ^^ Lemme know what you guys think yourselves. Final thoughts on the chapter? Hopes for the next one? Lemme know, I love that stuff.

Oh, right, I'm going to Cyphacon this weekend in my home town of Lake Charles, Louisiana. I doubt I'll get any response on this, but if any reader is in the area, swing by. I'm cosplaying as The Scarecrow.

Yeah, that wraps this one up. We won't quite be diving right into the next chapter right away, but we'll go into more detail on that whole matter soon. For now, just be ready for the anniversary picture on Saturday.

Think Adam pretty well covered this one, not sure exactly how much I've really got to contribute by now.

Guess one thing that does bare noting is the last of using this particular font for the dialogue - we didn't want to watch mid-chapter on it for fear it'd be too jarring, but for the next one we'll be switching to the style that's been in use in WaR for awhile now. If you don't read WaR you might want to take a look at that to know what to expect, which couldn't hurt anyway if you're a Blues fan since right now Marvelous Man's over in WaR in the thick of what's going on there.

I saw Quartz as one who's had their sanity stripped away to the point he could no longer separate reality from fiction and that all his stories except for the Watchman one had crumbs of truth to them, and I meant it when I said he was extremely unlucky cause the poor man's clearly had no breaks in life.

Makes sense. ^^ Really gladja liked the chapter. Maybe without the suit things'll improve.

How many times was his comic retconned? That could be part of his confused, many different girlfriend deaths.
It may have happened once and his mental state combined with the comics... And throw in reading the occasional other comic...

Ha! Good question. ^^ Yeah, there were probably some painful Retcons or terrible editorial decisions going on in his own comic...
