I've got about five minutes to type up comments on this one, very last minute getting it finished due to when it finished being drawn and having work work to do first. Okay...

Yeah, getting to meet some of the extras! We've got names and powers planned out for quite a lot of them, but only so many have really come up within the comic proper. There probably can easily be more filler like this down the line given there's really no shortage to work with for it.

It's kind of funny, we tend to kind of try and stick away from the meaningful names in the comics with the main characters - been one we've been kind of grappling with lately with some considerations on things - with about the most notable example of someone kind of big I can think of being Harena meaning sand which wasn't even intentional, but it's a pretty common thing with the Blues extras. I guess a consequence of being extras, easiest to kind of snap to a name based off the power set or to assign powers that relate to the name.

Do hope everyone enjoys this one, regular comics start back up Wednesday!

Also, if curious for a little more world-building information, take a look at Wright as Rayne here for some information on the relation between those with powers and magic, which includes blue bloods.

Yeah, wanted to restrict it to three here so we could potentially do more of these in the future. ^^ These three in particular were picked because they were prominent and would just be neat to discuss. These are all little head-canons me and Martin came up with in working with them.

Petey actually came about waaaay back before the comic started, with me just having drawn a picture of a crying abandoned boy one night when I was really depressed. Felt bad for the kid so put him in this comic.

Lilly's coloring led us to wonder on the chlorophyll thing, and well as it being an open question if she was blue or not. In the middle of typing this I remembered "Oh, wait, you can get genetic testing to see if you have certain genes... Like in the real world" and it made no sense for it to be a mystery.

Ruby.... One of the early, early plans for a kid at the center would be an overly-cutesy little girl who could turn her skin diamond. I kept forgetting to put her in, but Ruby was a recurring extra, and the fans eventually were the ones who named her (which was AWESOME, by the way) so figured, "Eh, make it Ruby skin, and it's her."

Back to business on Wednesday. Come back then. ^^
