Hm. How to start on this one. This is a pretty big bombshell to drop on Marvelous Man....

Guess start with the visuals; was meant to look surreal, like Insomniac is dragging Marvelous Man through his dreams. Martin's coloring does a lot for that. ^^ Also love seeing the Insomniac and Marvelous Man standing side-by-side in their "official" outfits as hero and villain.

Kind of the weird thing about it is that I'm not dropping this as a way of invalidating the guy and claiming everything he'd done is wrong because he cheated to get there. The weird thing is that the page following this has his counter-argument for why he did this and how it's not a bad thing (the philosophy on Marvelous Man is that if we can think of a good argument he can make for what he's doing, he should be allowed to make it). I personally don't think him cheating isn't as important as the reasoning he gives for it and his current thoughts on the matter, which we'll be seeing in the next page.

I also just have a problem believing Marvelous Man would've passed a Psych Evaluation since he shows a lot of the symptoms of narcissism, which probably would've barred him from inclusion. I think being Marvelous Man has sort of inflated his ego, but I think the underlying case was still there. I dunno, as a Psych major I just kinda felt like part of me needed to sidestep the question of how this happened.

I actually felt pretty bad for the army psychologist interviewing him. Whenever psychologists turn up in media to interview the hero, it's always treated as something you need if you're a wimp. Like, the tough, hardened cop or secret agent or commando resents being ordered to get evaluated and is difficult through the whole thing before telling the psychologist why they're better than everybody else before marching out. Imagine that's what all of this guys' other interviews went like and he's just burned out at this point.

Weird how both WaR and Blues have had points in their Halloween chapters where we needed to draw Benjamin Franklin. That's one of those odd little coincidences you wouldn't really expect to ever happen.

Yeah, this page does kind of cast a certain light on a lot of what Marvelous Man did... which makes the darkness over him for the whole thing a little fitting. Really that's mostly just there to be awkward and surreal, kind of keep everything just feeling wrong. Played around with it a little more in the last panel with doing the darkness coloring on Marvelous himself while leaving the suit light but it didn't really look very good so that part got cut.

After Adam's point on psychologists in media I kind of want to work on into WaR at some point. Helps there are a good few characters I can easily buy having need of one.

Whoa this is interesting, wonder what MM is going to say about his cheating.
