.... Okay, where do I start?

I actually studied a few manga fights for how to get this fight out just right. Kneeing someone in the stomach so hard they cough up blood is weirdly anime-ish, isn't it? .... Because yeah, Val's doing that. Look close.

Add onto that Jake getting something "Popped out" and I'm pretty sure Grant just got his ribs broken. Oh, and Jenny's leg is now broken. Martin's color-job really pops here. Those blue-red backgrounds you see when the blows land just makes everything so much more.... painful.

In general I'm genuinely putting effort to make fight scenes hurt more. Between this and the butt-kicking going on in WaR right now I want people to see the blows landing and wince. That Ivy-Alex right recently in WaR was good but I want agony. ... I might be overcompensating though. Grant getting his ribs broken wasn't in the script, it just sort of happened. I tend to draw things as looking more painful than they should be on paper.

Originally this entrance was gonna be slightly more elaborate, with a little covered garden area and pillars and the like. Got cut because these pages are fairly busy and we're realllly strapped for time being this late in the chapter. Had to go simple. Kinda works because a large hospital typically has multiple entrances and Insomniac would probably want a quiet side-door.

So half the group's gone down in one hit apiece, this fight's going swimmingly!

Yeah, this one's supposed to come off really painful and dramatic and pretty happy with the end result on it. Really chose a good time to kind of get into the gradient thing, it helps a lot with stuff like this... though I also chose a terrible time because it'd have been great for Hazel's hair except he dyed it right before I took this up.

But that's another subject entirely. All in all very happy with this one and hope everyone... Maybe enjoys isn't the right word, but do hope everyone thinks it came out good.

Well, keep in mind; the comic has never had a yardstick moment to compare their strength.
