Well, what did you think was gonna happen? He'd fly into the school and beat them up? Don't be silly; they're children. He reported them.

I joke but yeah, we kinda chose the cover of this chapter very deliberately. This chapter IS about a confrontation between Marvelous Man and the kids, but it doesn't get physical. We were trying to subvert expectations with what he might do.

At one point the idea for the chapter was to have Marvelous Man lure them out of the school and then sic the police on them, and the chapter would've been a fast-paced stealth deal with them trying to evade police presence and get back to the school without being seen. While that would've been fun, this idea struck us and we thought having a face-to-face, behind-closed-doors confrontation would be more effective. It's more personal and I don't think that underhanded false-flag deal would've been in-character for Marvelous Man.

Speaking of, was weird trying to design the guy's suit. We never really see him out of costume that often and wasn't sure how he would look. Given his casual personality I don't think he's someone who wears business suits very often, so tried to make it look like it didn't quite fit right, or that he wasn't accustomed to wearing it.

I did really love doing the banter between the kids in the build-up too. That's always just fun to go off on. ^^ Heck, one thing I meant to mention is I like Grant's match of shirts. Subtle reminder that he knows the truth about Alex.

I kind of love this page for just how very Gunnerkrigg Court it is. That intense cover leading to a conversation in an office is exactly the kind of thing that comic would do.

So yeah, here's where the chapter really kicks into gear - takes no time at all to really get to the point, this one. Not sure how much I've got to say about that whole subject on its own right at this point in time, but I do hope everyone enjoys and is sure to swing by on Wednesday for more.

Welp. They're soooooo busted.

To be fair, though, um... their secret identities weren't very secret to begin with. I mean, a domino mask here, a silly helmet there. Valerie doesn't even wear a headpiece.

I'm actually surprised they didn't get found out sooner. XD

Heh. They're going to a school that studies their super-powers. Anyone who even SEES these kids just has to go to the school say, "Hey, here's a description of the kids and a list of the powers I saw them using, do they match anyone?" and the cover's blown. ^^ Not exactly an ideal setup for'em.
