Do you get it?! Because he feels imprisoned!

Yeaaaaah, eheh... Was kinda afraid that last panel was a bit on the nose, but it sorta works. Especially since that gate is going to be a fixture of the next page, so conceivably this could be a POV shot of whoever came to visit him.

One part of this I wanted to go into is that the other kids can clearly see Grant is taking this hard and are trying to give him emotional support. It's not easy for any of them, but I did wanna show that they are still trying to keep him from getting too depressed by finding stuff to keep him occupied with. It's not much, but I did wanna show that was happening. That bit in the first panel where Andy was trying to get Lore to play with his baby sister? Think that was the same deal. It's a step that everyone is trying to be there for each other when they need it.

This was another case where I was kinda caught off-guard by Martin's coloring. Did a great job making everyone look out of character; especially Grant and Nicky. .... Come to think of it, since Grant already isn't wearing superhero clothes anymore, should've extended that to the other kids. Would've been a good indicator something is wrong if Jenny's not wearing her bicycle shorts of Nicky's not in overalls. Then again, kinda the point of the chapter is that Grant's taking it the hardest so maybe it's not needed.

It's small, but I do like the constant reminders that of the core group, Val and Grant have been at the school the longest since they were both there on the opening day.

If you're curious, Mr. Hartly is the school's sole security guard. He appeared in Chapter 1 and then NEVER AGAIN!

Mysterious lady Valerie doesn't know at the gate looking for Grant, wonder who it could be. We'll see next time I guess in the 600th page!

But yeah, I liked the kind of off-kilter atmosphere in this, and getting to go really out of character with the way Grant's depicted. Walking, no costume on, short sleeves, no sign of blue anywhere on him, like really getting to convey a mood just through little things like that.

Really hoping everyone enjoys this one. Not sure what else I've got to say on it but very happy with how it came out.

If Grant's meeting who I think he is then the next page is going to be extremely interesting.
