Yeaaaaah, this particular character is someone I've wanted to show off because she's erm... Strange. Tried to really go for reclusive, eccentric genius and take it to a really "Wait, what?" degree. I think one fan asked how sinister and mad-scientisty Mariposa was going to be since she never left her chamber and was running her own private prison, so hoping this direction is a bit of a surprise. ^^

This creepy lab/playroom in particular I really had fun with. It kinda displays a lot about her character, and was pretty surprised by Martin's twisted color scheme for this place. ^^ My favorite touch is probably that pony apparently being the Horseman for War.

She kinda came off like a nerd with an unlimited budget and resources, and liked the end result. I dunno how to feel about sort of envying her set-up. Gigantic big-screen monitor right over the bed, which is in arms reach of a mini-fridge.... A job where you can sleep whenever you want and get buttloads of money while putting no effort into your appearance.... Hope you folks like what we've got planned for her.

That song she's singing is My Other Voice by The Sparks. I heard it and just immediately thought I'd have to put it in the comic at some point. It sounds like something being sung by a comic-book character.

Gah, running late commenting, lost track of time due to Pokemon leaks.

Really happy with this one. The color scheme thing really isn't even what I expected with it honestly - I started out doing a kind of peaceful pastel colors kind of thing, but I eventually decided to instead take it this kind of Tunnel of Love sort of direct, with very harsh, vibrant pink and red in there along with some purple and blue. Just kind of felt a lot more right to me than going with something more subdued.

So yeah, meet Dr. Mariposa! Funny enough I'm not actually sure how much I have to say about her right off, if only because of how much we've got planned for down the line involving her.

I will say though that she is someone we went through a LOT of revisions on over the years. This particular incarnation of the character is something only really formed over the past few months, but at a point well before the comic actually started she and Genight were basically one character. More details to come as it becomes a little easier to speak on it but I'm really fond of the end result on how she came together.

So introducing the somewhat antisocial eccentric genius with questionable maturity who talks in a weird way, and what she's doing in the last panel reminds me of what's been said about how dirty old men behave when they're home alone.

Heh. Don't think I've heard what they say about those men. ^^ But hope you like her; know this is a biiit odd.

That they run around the house stark naked drinking milk straight out of the carton in front of an open fridge, at least Dr. whackjob keeps her clothes on.

..... Well, there's a mental image I'm gonna be stuck with for the rest of the day.

I like her...i am going to enjoy MM trying to get the answers he wants from her. Not that he won’t get answers, just whether he will get the answers he wants is the question.

Heh... Glad to hear it. ^^ Yeah, kinda like his particular response to her.
