Heh. This was kind of a page meant just for me; I really, really wanted a shot of Fontainebleu in the comic proper. The only chance we got to see him was a brief shot in the Filler pages. Likewise since the chapter takes place during the day I wanted a good, picturesque shot of Tortoise Island. Plus we needed to establish who Fontainebleu was in-comic after everything was established in filler.

Really not much else besides establishing "Yeah, this is what we're doing this week." There are a few aspects about this set-up that are unusual, but they'll come up next update. ^^

I kinda like the little touches with the kids all on the swingset. Andy's dangling, Valerie is standing just behind her brother implying she was pushing him, Nicky's got his arms entwined around everything, Grant's floating over the seat.... Also love how adorably touched Jenny looks that Vespi is asking them.

Heh. Speaking of, really fond of that shot of Vespi and Jake standing side-by-side as they address the camera. Was trying to build the impression she could serve as a Team Mom to Jake's position as Team Dad.

Yeah, pretty happy with this one. Basically just an excuse to get some certain visuals in and have some fun, but it is a good quick way to get the characters caught up and make it clear Vespi's going to be tagging along throughout this one.

We were actually pretty split on that at a point, whether to have her along for the ride or only popping in to let them know about it, but decided on the former.

Only thing I can think to highlight beyond that is that with this chapter made the transition to doing a gradient effect on some background stuff to give the images a little more pop. Not anything drastic but enough to give a little extra flare.

Oh, right, Vespi's color scheme also went some big adjustments here. The idea already was to give her kind of a dark skinned blond thing but wanted to really play ti up here, make her more outright orange-ish to look a little more not-quite-right, put over the pixie thing more. Also wanted to give her outfit a little more visual flare and thus added that striped design.

Fontainebleu looks super beat-up in that one panel, this chapter just going to keep getting weirder and weirder.
