Heheh... Yeah, this was kind of a fun idea; some of the people coming in to get the spell were representatives of the French government who claimed ownership of the spell on behalf of France. It also naturally would lead to the idea of going into a shadowy section of the government that oversees and researches magic. I don't think it's like a separate governmental body like the Ministry of Magic from Harry Potter, but just a section of the currently-existing government that gets a new secretary every election.

Honestly, the closest approximation of my view is that one Dave Chappelle skit where he played a president who freely admitted all the stuff the government kept secret; "Oswald shot Kennedy. By himself... using a magic bullet. Yes, magic is real, the leaders of the world have known about it for hundreds of years."

Granted, I dunno when we'll ever learn more about the Department of Etherealism, it's just something that I imagine would naturally exist in this universe and needed to be addressed....

Heh. Weird to go into that immediately and not the stuff with the BP girls suddenly showing up for the first time in the comic. Kinda felt really awkward putting them in here since I wasn't entirely sure how they'd react to the kids. We see a bit more of that in the next chapter.

Everybody remains very cute, though. Especially love Andy and Lore int he first panel. ^^

Hey, BP girls are here! Kind of took awhile to settle on exactly where to have them turn up, but did want to get them in fairly early so they can have a decent chunk of the screentime.

First time in ages we've seen Misty in costume incidentally, last time was in Shopping Star and that was very brief. Got a little bit more vibrant of a color scheme here, same basically palette but do think it looks a little flashier this way.

The French representatives were something we kind of had a bunch of back and forth on. We actually thought about having them be part of the proceedings for more than just being taken out offscreen, but it was decided to pretty much just bring the subject up but then brush it aside.

On another note, yeah, the conversation at the beginning of the page came about through me pointing out to Adam how Nicky had attacked Marina when she hadn't actually done anything and didn't seem to have any direct interest in a conflict. Seemed like a good point to go into and have the lot discuss, and it kind of helps to show the kids' inexperience a bit more.

I was wondering when these three were going to show up, the chaos levels just keep mounting the more the chapter progresses.

Heheh... Yeah, rather curious how high it'll get myself. ^^
