Heheh... Did all of the stuff with Marvelous Man finally having his big climax make you guys forget what time of year it is? Happy Halloween, folks. ^_^

Yeah, with all the Marvel movies out this year, including the wonderful Infinity War, decided to go with a Marvel Theme this year. Valerie as Captain Marvel, Jenny as Gamora, Lore as Iron Man, Andy as Starlord, Grant as Thor, Nicky as Venom, and Jake as Dr. Strange.

Kinda hope you guys are pleased with this set-up because uhhh... Yeaaaah, me and Martin had second-thoughts after this one was finished. The initial plan was to do the newcomers for Smash Ultimate (Lore as Isabel, Val as Dark Samus, ect) but I didn't want to do three video game themes in a row. We kicked around a few other sets (including My Little Pony, Steven Universe, and My Hero Academia) before settling on Marvel.

Problem is I had a LOT of trouble thinking of characters I both really like who also are fitting for each individual kid to dress as AND also fun to do visually. When I sat down and figured out who's what, kept running into problems like, "Nnn... Don't like Captain America, don't like Black Widow, love Hulk but don't think he works for anyone..." So that really cut down my options. For all the billion heroes actually IN Infinity War only so many actually carried a real investment for me.

As such a lot of the people in this picture are weird compromises. For example, I really love Gamora (ALL the Guardians really) but using her a as costume was sooooo boring. On the other end, I really don't care at all about Captain Marvel (at least the non-Billy-Batson version), but her costume is great and I wanted to see how it looked on Valerie. I mean, I'm not DISpleased with it, but think on the whole the result would've been waaaay stronger if we'd gone with Smash. Looking back it was easily the strongest set we'd brainstormed.

Not to say this didn't come off kinda cool. I love Starlord!Andy so much I wanna have him wearing that jacket in-canon at some point. Really pulled off the look (he's even got the walkman on his hip!). Grant and Nicky came out really adorable too, the latter originally going to be Spidey before I decided to go with Venom at the last minute to let him be goofy with his tongue. Also.... It was hard to imply with his expression since he never smiles, but I wanted to show that Jake kinda-sorta liked his costume. He's... Not hating it. ^^

Speaking of last-minute changes, the kids all have Infinity Gems. Dunno why, just tossed those in. Yeah, sorry about the rant, but hope you guys enjoy. If you'd like to see any of those other sets or have ideas for ones of your own, let us know in the comments. ^^

Yeah, I definitely would have been more interested in going with the Smash Bros. route. Still, am happy with how this came out, even if admittedly didn't really especially enjoy coloring it.

Kind of going to show how much the costumes in this universe bleed together, the only one I was actually 100% on uncolored was Jake's. Admittedly because for a lot of them I wasn't looking that hard but still, yeah. The Marvel movie design sensibilities are just way too samey and way too washed out.

Either way I'll save a rant on that, since really I could go on for awhile about all the problems I have with the MCU. Regardless I'm pretty happy with how this came out and hope everyone has a great Halloween!

Very interesting even though I didn't recognize anyone's costumes.
