Well, just picked up the new computer.... Whew. When I get off work tonight I'ma set her up. She looks a beauty. ^^

In the meantime, yeah. That's what the staff does. Halts human thought and concentration momentarily. Kind of the perfect weapon for a super-hero really; non-lethal, effective, and something that perfectly lends itself to action. Like Spidey's webshooters or Cap's physics-defying shield. ^^

At one point I think the idea WAS for Fontainium to be an unbreakable, adamantium-type metal, but for some reason went for this. I imagine there are more properties to it we haven't discovered yet, like still batting around the idea that it's an Anti-Magic staff or something. I can picture something like a giant churchbell of Fontainium being used to disable whole hoardes of soldiers.

But yeah, didn't really mean to give MM another bizarre moment of clarity in this fight, he's kinda had enough to make him unlikeable, just felt natural after having someone hit the "pause" button on him. He did make an ideal target for it though, his thought-boxes nicely sum up the effects.

As a reminder, reason Jake had to rush in with the staff was because I forgot to have Andy carrying it. I like the idea that in-universe he just forgot to take it with him. Speaking of, love how cute and happy he came off in the third panel. D'awww. ^^

This page wound up having some headaches to it, mostly in the fact Adam's old computer happened to go down before we could put the dialogue on it (or to be more exact, right as he was nearly done with doing so). As a result this turned into a last-minute scramble to do it on his laptop before going to bed to make sure it'd be ready since no guarantees he'd have time to do it before work. The new computer should avoid that issue though, and decent chance it'll also end up accelerating the overall process a little since it'll mean less distractions on Adam's end.

Not too sure how much I actually have to say on the page though, funny enough? Think Adam pretty well covered it, plus it was kind of done in the middle of me rushing through doing a bunch of commissions, this page, and a Wright as Rayne one all at once so nothing really that remarkable about it from my perspective. Still, I am pretty happy with how the page came out and hopefully everyone enjoys. I particularly like that one shot of Andy, he looks so happy.

While anything that would make your mind go completely blank would be deadly for a spellcaster I don't think that's what Fontainebleu was freaking out about, very interesting, wonder what's going to happen next.

Heh.... Yeah, is a pretty much instant-lose for anyone in a life-or-death struggle, especially a spellcaster. ^^

Maybe it’s effect is different depending on how it reacts to an opponent. This could just be what happened to MM.

Possibly? I dunno if I'm a clever enough writer to keep thinking of new effects, though. ^^

This is good, but I hope we get more of a fight between Jake and malevolent man, and not just a Physical and verbal as well.
