Heheh... Yeah, this was on the books at one point but got derailed. Fans started asking about this for a long time, and a LOT of people wanted to see Marvelous Man's powers get taken away from him, so just didn't wanna do it based on that. Granted, I think the bigger motivating factor in the end was having the kids take him in a straight fight, but both elements were important.

Wanna make it clear I'm not upset about changing gears, I actually think this worked out for the best, and liked that the fans were involved enough to start making those guesses. ^^ Like I said, this speculation happened EARLY in the story arc too, so much so that changing gears and avoiding it was easy since there hadn't been any seeds planted that this could happen.

Actually, now that I think about it, the idea wasn't that Marvelous Man would've learned about this after getting telepathy, Insomniac was gonna tell him about it during their fight as a way of letting him know the army didn't trust him. This would've made him subsequently more paranoid and remove his faith in his superiors, and inspire him to take more of a hold on his own destiny. ..... Kinda informs him a bit more, but since it still felt like a relatively smooth downward slope without it, probably nothing much lost by dropping that story plot.

Admittedly, having Jake land the final blow would make a lot of what we're doing in the next storyarc a lot easier. ^^

Admittedly this whole sequence of filler thus far has been pretty weird to comment on, to the point on the previous one I had to ask Adam if he intended to go into this subject since was considering doing so to pad my comments there.

So yeah, there were a few other thoughts in place as to how exactly to go about this general subject. Part of the plan for a long while was Nicky being the one to manage to exploit the weakness, kind of paying off that particular thread, but just beating him straight-on really did work out more.

As a result though it did sort of end up robbing the military guys of a lot of their relevance to the later narrative, although we'll prooobably see them again in some other context later.

All I've really got but hopefully everyone enjoys this one. If only for that shot of our clueless fill-in hosts.

The kids beat him all on their own skill and brain addition to a magic whooping stick! Whoot! I never get tired of saying that! Magic freaking whooping stick!

I will acknowledge there was a bit of luck involved...but mostly it was skill, brains, and the magic whooping stick!!!!
