Spoiler Alert: None of them are quitting. This isn't a cliffhanger, just an awkward way of ending the page. Nobody's giving up the superhero life, it just felt natural to bring it up and wonder if they should. Also we needed a minute when everyone agreed to stay.

I also just wanted to have a moment where somebody got angry and fed up at everything happening and just vented. It felt natural having it be Nicky, and I really loved the idea of him being pushed over the edge hearing what Grant's been going through. It does a lot to show the friendship those two have. ^^

I just love having heroism-related statues around Sapphire City. The one the kids are in front of here is The Argo, the ship Jason and the Argonauts went on for adventures. ^^

This page kind of speaks to the overall purpose of this chapter - pretty much just laying out the current state of things and showing what all needs to be addressed going forward and what the kids plan to do about it. We're actually very near the end of this chapter, is the shortest to date, though still a few pages to go getting there. It's kind of more of a lead-in for the next one than anything.

Funny thing, pretty much my immediate reaction when Adam sent me the script for this page was to compare it to Persona 5. Certainly unintentional on Adam's part, he hasn't played it or watched a playthrough or anything, but it does really hit on some similar themes to a lot of the conversations in that game so was kind of amusing to me.

Yeah, I dunno, really tired as I put this together so not coming up with much to talk about offhand. Still, pretty happy with this page and hopefully everyone enjoys it.

Nicky's rant is a nice little sum up of what's been happening the past month, very interesting, wonder what's going to happen next.

I sense a reckless jail break about to happen... maybe...

Heh... Tempting, but think the kids aren't THAT reckless. If they were they'd likely just be met with, "You're all idiots. I confessed for a reason."

They will probably try to legally defend him. A jail break will be to immoral for them at this point.
Jake is probably relying on less evidence against him making his defence easier by getting this court case to take place sooner rather than later, that’s why he confessed.
This would be the first step and hardest to getting the group legally green lighted. Don’t want any black marks in their history to come back to bite them.

You're probably close on some of those. ^^

Times like these, they need an eccentric possibly clinically unstable billionaire! Possibly one with a team of cyborg assassin-bodyguards plus one android! Maybe one who moonlights as a super villain for kicks!

I will likely keep bringing that lunatic up until he finally rears his head again. Seriously! He is a guy rich and connected enough to almost literally make most of their problems just disappear. Rich Guy Ex Machina!

Heck, technically he’s the one to blame with that first attempted cyborg assassination on that one guy that they stopped prompting this sequence of events that lead to their embrace of the hero identities!

Yeah probably not gonna keep bringing him up as said my full piece. Take responsibility for messing up these kids lives you crazy rich nutjob!

I don't know about that, I think the kids of have become superheroes with out without Spencer.

And on that nutjob, you can always count the page of when he has not shown up. I count 11 pages of him not showing up.

Heh. The weird thing is you keep going to Spencer and not another, more obvious person that could potentially help the kids and Jake.

Pretty sure Vespi kidnapping the kids and Jake to another dimension isn’t gonna magically make all their problems go away as much as some cartoons make it seem that way.

Sorry this was going to be put up on page 10 but your website was not working.

For page 10.

Mmmm I definitely feel bad for Grant here and honestly I don’t know who is worse the Strines or the Lirruts.

I would have to say both parents are pretty bad but let’s talk about the Lirruts and what we see on page 10.

From what we can see/find out, Grant and his parents are definitely well off with money like being able to get a private martial arts trainer and the right training equipment for Grant.

So I am thinking Grant’s parents are business people that would explain why they are very busy and can’t see him.

Now don’t get me wrong it does not excuse them, but again it explains why. At least for Mr Lirrut, but from what we see Miss Lirrut, she’s kind of a B.

From what we see in Blue Bloodlines Cover, the look she is giving says she really does not want to be in the picture with her husband and son.

Which makes me think that Mr. and Miss Lirrut’s marriage maybe on the rocks, I mean on Blue Guardians- Page 1 we see Mr. Lirrut having some

kind of fight with his wife.

But anyway like I said before Miss Lirrut is kind of a B. As we see in Tangled Up In Blue, Page 20 the way she talks about Grant.

It seems like she wants no part in her son’s life, unless it suits her as we see Miss Lirrut taking interest in Grant’s superheroing.

And then we have Mr. Lirrut again, from what we know he is a very busy man and I think again he and his wife are business people, and from what we see in Blue vs. Gold, Page 44 and Been Missing Blue,

Page 10, Mr. Lirrut does not listen to his son.

So all in all I think both the Lirruts and the Strines are just assholes.

for page 11.

Nicky’s right this is just bullcrap I mean Sapphire City owes the kids there asses, but the kids have all most gotten the short end of the stick, I say all most because Jake’s the one who’s in jail right now.

I really hope Spencer and the peacekeepers can do something about it, seems there are the only people that can help.

Heheh... Quite a lot to unpack but yeah, the Lirruts don't exactly come out of this particular excursion looking like saints. ^^

It's funny you're only going into Spencer and the Peacekeepers there's another, more obvious, person who could help....
babygirl 12th Mar 2019, 11:12 PM edit delete reply
Your right there is Vespi. But as Rastaba said.

Vespi kidnapping the kids and Jake to another dimension isn’t gonna magically make all their problems go away as much as some cartoons make it seem that way.

So I think Spencer and the Peacekeepers are the only ones to really help.
