As we mentioned before, this chapter is mostly just recapping and setting up for the arc. So as you can easily tell, the next chapter's gonna be the kids reaching out to these people, and dealing with the feedback from it. ^^ I mean, no point in being coy and trying to bury that's where it was going.

I was surprised everybody's minds went to Spencer and not Vespi, given she could potentially give legal advice, money, connections, or any number of adult things for as far as anyone knew.... Plus a lot of people liked Vespi, felt strange nobody was calling for her to swing by again. Granted, it's been a while since we've seen Spencer...

Margaret being one of the names the kids tried to come out was relatively a late decision. Y'know that nervous guy who's in a lot of her scenes with Marvelous Man, a sort of Clark-Kent type? Was gonna have him be the one to break the story and wind up getting a huge promotion from it. I felt like in Blue vs. Gold we got a good connection with Margaret and I liked writing for a Lois-Expy so much I wanted to make it her instead. Plus having her turn around and break the story on MM as payback for the brainwashing was pretty awesome, made me really want to see more with her.

We wrote this after the page about Valerie's parents dropped on Comic Fury. Valerie's lines about her lack of control when she first got her powers was partly meant to explain WHY her parents reacted so badly. That being their main experience around Val's abilities colors their perception of it quite a lot. I kinda didn't expect her folks to get quite the backlash they did, so just wanted to contextualize it a bit. ^^

Yeah, this page basically just lays out what all the group has in mind for going forward, who all they're focusing on. Not the easiest one for me to comment on given that.

Though one element this does feel like a decent time to get into is the Peacekeepers. We'll talk more about it next time, but they were intended to be a much bigger part of this chapter than they actually wound up being; it was decided for a few reasons to shift some of what was planned with them in this chapter to the next one, which was kind of the idea behind spotlighting them before this chapter instead of waiting since at the time that was going to be more of a thing. Still, next page is devoted to them and we do get to hear a little bit more about the specifics of what the group does exactly.

Although for what it's worth they already did get some passing information a couple of pages ago in Wright as Rayne.

Not a huge amount but there it draws attention to something of how the group functions, that they're a known presence, and Marina's involvement with them (funny enough, given while a few members of the group are about to put in an appearance in the next page Marina isn't one of them). For what it's worth the Dr. Fremont she's referring to there is Protocol.
