Heheh.... Yeah, happy anniversary folks. Here are a few things we're looking forward to trying out in the next year. Hope everybody keeps reading and enjoys the ride.

This was a fun quick picture to storm together.... As you can see the pay-off for the Blueblog thing is going to be very soon, and as everyone's expected, Spencer will be showing up again. Hard to say exactly what's coming beyond that. ^^

Admittedly one problem I have with this preview in retrospect is that it makes the next few chapters look WAY darker than I meant them to. A lot of what's coming is an attempt to be breezy and light-hearted after the Marvelous Man arc wound up being such a downer. Quite a few of the upcoming arcs are played for comedy.

.....

Well, most. There's some twisted stuff in there. Who can tell me whose hand that is?

The idea of this one was my idea but Adam filled in a lot of the specifics - I really only pitched the monitors and the hand part of thing I believe.

So yeah, probably a bit of an odd year ahead, albeit one we're very excited for. Been a big year for the comic with the way the status quo's been shaken up and everyone's redesigns, so really hoping everyone enjoying what's to come in year nine.

I blame four things for the ‘cover’ page giving a slightly more ominous and dark look. Number one somewhat obviously is the slightly more subdued tone to the image as a whole. The colors look just that tiny bit darker and more shaded then normal that it literally makes it look darker. Everything looks darker and more serious when grey is the primary color used.

Number two is the blood spatters in the edge of the console and the floor. It is hard not to feel a sense of foreboding when you see a massive amount of dark red spread out like that. Even if it turns out to be ketchup or something.

Number three is the bottom left and bottom center monitors. The vampire has some wicked incisors that immediately raise natural animalistic flight responses and in fact are not something we have seen truly played into before to my memory unlike the either cyborg or android in the top left. And the bottom center is a flaming image of ‘the other place’ in ominous looking lettering. It speaks for itself.

And number four. The text itself present on the page is just presented in a foreboding way when placed into the context of the other three mentioned items that only heightens the darker more intense atmosphere.

Just going to point out, that the way it's drawn, and splattery? It's probably not ketchup. :P

Something about that hand is definitely ringing a bell but I can't quite put my finger on exactly who it is(Moon keeps entering my head but I'm not sure why).

Heheh... Moon would've been really interesting, yeah, but not quite. ^^
