But yeah, the kids now know for certain it's Martina Ferguza who's causing this and are taking steps to meet with and confront her. The fact that Rick's crew is so painfully clueless was a lot of fun to do, especially compared to the kids' super-casual understanding that it's her.
That's about all I got for her, though I do like all the little bits of characterization going on here, as well as how everybody just bounces off each other. Always fun to see for both the kids and Rick's group.
For the record, while Maleficent was an influence in Martina, I didn't expect it to be so present in how she carries herself. I genuinely don't know if Martina is leaning into the whole "walk on eggshells around me or else" thing as a way of throwing her weight around, or if she really IS that petty and insecure.
Because we needed more complications, my computer went down on Monday. Fortunately I had a backup and I've already ordered another so it won't slow down production - indeed I've colored pages of both comics since it happened - but we realllly can't catch a break lately, can we?
So yeah, this is just some cute fun with the two groups bouncing back and forth off of each other. Think has some good gags to it, in particular like Detective!Nicky as a pretty goofy visual and Valerie just having none of this stupidity. Also like the kind of passing confirmation that Rick's crew are the ones that took the kids out during the casino fight; think goes to show how as dimwitted as they are they are genuinely threatening.
