Heh... Dunno how much I'll have to say between this being a fairly simple page and running on very little sleep.
Like we said last time, Vespitina was added in part because we hadn't seen her much and then having all these cool ideas for what her nightmare would be.... Once we had her in, thought it'd be great to have her move the plot along, showing just how useful she is to the group, and putting things back on track. Good way of displaying the value she brings to the crew.
We also see that Nicky is able to kinda grasp the dream logic of this place a little better than Valerie and seems less puzzled by stuff....
Vespi losing all the blood and dirty on her after she realized what was happening is a show that she's got a better grip on this, as opposed to Valerie still being overclocked and Nicky all washed out. The idea actually resulted in some weird back-and-forth between me and Martin, and part of the reason we decided to go with it was so we wouldn't have to keep slathering blood and dirt on her in every panel. ^^
Originally this page had a different ending note of Nicky pressing Vespi on what her dream was about and her saying she didn't want to talk about it. Adam didn't really like that ending note so when I wound up pointing out something on Vespi's understanding of the situation combined with having kind of misread part of the script it wound up being retooled in this direction instead.
Not a page I think there's a tremendous amount to say about, but think it came out pretty good. I like kind of getting to see some back and forth with this trio of characters; don't think we've seen much interaction between Val and Vespi since Vespi was first introduced despite them having quite a bit of it then so it's good to see some more of that dynamic now, plus kind of fits in well with how over her head Val is in this current situation.
