And now back to our main crew. The situation, uh... could definitely be better, to say the least.
I don't have a whole lot to say on this one I'm afraid, but I'm pretty happy with it. Kind of weird seeing Jake looking completely panicked, but do very much like this and the events that follow.
God, this is a weird thing to wake up to... No wonder Jake's so shocked. I certainly would be.
Yeahhhh, remember how I said the chapter was way too long because I had to establish Spencer as a character? The reason that had such a big impact on the length was that I had to establish him twice. Once before you know he's actually a villain and then again afterward.
That said, a lot of Spencer's pre-villainous lines are written so that they make a lot more sense after you know his real motivation. In particular this explains why he was totally cool with the kids wanting to lead him to safety.
As I wrote Spencer's pre-villainous lines though, I began to like doing that so much that the gag quickly became he's basically got the same personality when he's evil as he does when he's nice. Originally he was meant to be more two-faced and have a clearer facade, but since that was mostly the gag with Martina and Spencer was so much fun, I tried to keep his personality more or less the same both before and after the shift, very laid-back and charming.
Heheh.... That'd be a very villainous turn of events, though funny you should bring that idea up- Dr. Doom was one of many influences that went into Spencer. Specifically, he's drawn to resemble what I always pictured Doom looking like if he didn't get his face burned.
Oh, we'll see the other kids soon enough. ^^ As for Chiko-tan, since Spencer is their bankroller that means their base is really back in the UK. Since he can't exactly fly there I think he just went to Shinobu for a quick repair.
