And it begins! I'm the colorist, which is a nice way of saying I don't really do anything, but Adam's running a bit late and I thought I would get this prepared to go up for him.
I don't really have much to say, though. Oh, I did make the recommendation on having a news bit talking about the school for the beginning. I forget what led to that idea exactly, but it is a convenient exposition tool. And not entirely out of plot convenience, since the next day in the story marks a significant occasion for the school so it'd be reasonable for this to be talked about.
I knew there was something I was gonna do on my break! God, Martin, thanks a ton.
But yeah, first real strip. I can't recall every being so nervous when drawing something. My heart was in my throat the entire time I was working on this page, since it was the first piece of Blues to get made (The cover was only done just before launch). The news-coverage bit works very well for explaining the setting and premise and certainly owe Martin for the idea. ^^
I love how surprisingly cute Andy came out in the last panel. Weird point about his hair I'll discuss another time... Lore herself looks appropriately grumpy, although drawing her without her bow felt very weird.
I remember being really amazed when I got the colors on this back, since I had no idea how it was gonna look (we'd worked out the schemes for the characters but nothing else). When I finally saw the room, with the blue tintings on the walls and floor, the soft colors of the waiting room, I felt really relieved. Really lucky to have Martin on this with me. And not just because he can upload stuff on days I have class.
