I just had to do some tweaking on this one in Paint to fix Lenore's dialogue and a typo, and while I was at it I cleaned up the tails on the word balloons. I need to make a habit out of that, isn't at all hard to do and it makes things look much better.
So, time to move out! Things will be kicking into gear very soon, so be sure to keep reading.
Y'know, this makes two chapters in a row with Jake sitting on the sidelines. And his role in the next chapter is pretty small too. I guess he has to sit things out for a bit to make up for how Best Served Blue kind of turned to focusing on him toward the end of it.
Also, I like Andy's line about not knowing in the second panel. Think it does a good job of sort of conveying the seriousness of the situation.
Actually, I do have a speech planned for Jake in the next chapter. A lot of mini-speeches in those, in turns out.... Still, about time he got back into the comic.
Speaking of, Andy certainly came out cute here, I do like the "if you can joke about it" line. Said it in the first chapter and been meaning to call back to it sometime.
This also does show kinda how high the stakes are for this if this attack is hitting everyone in the city. Oddly I didn't realize how high those stakes were until the chapter was over. Probably talk more about that in the next chapter, which deals with some of the issues coming up in this one.
Jenny's ponytail is how her hair'll stay for the rest of the chapter. Much easier to draw than having it loose, though I do like how the latter looks better.
I also had ANOTHER big typo I had to fix in this page. "If you go out at night, the The Night Terror will eat you." That's just embarrassing, that is.
I can understand their fear- who wouldn't be afraid of someone who is mentally corroding the minds of an entire city- but Lenore is definitely pushing it over the edge. She's got me checking my window for monsters, even though I'm safe inside my house.
McCay's lines on the Blue Mugshots page make sense to me now, he was talking about how he could no longer fall asleep, and now I'm wondering if the shadow below him was The Night Terror, I wonder what Su's going to think when she snaps out of it and realizes she's cuddling Lore's pony.
