Finals week is killing me. Three tests coming up in the next week, one in under twelve hours, and every hour I think to myself, "What if I fail?" at least by the time this goes up, that one will be over with and I'll only have 2 to worry about. Plus Martin's still with the problems on his internet (his comments may take a while, by the way), and miss him pretty bad.
Whatever; this page came out great. Was a bit of a pain though; we had to arrange it so when the kids are in the alley things are darker, including super-shadows on their bodies. We were just getting started with shading here so was a learning experience for us. Would be much easier to handle something like this now.
Did like the effect of Lore getting punched so hard the pavement cracked up like that, and Jake putting himself between the kids and the villains protectively. The big surprise was the Daredevil effect on the Grant-club. I was really surprised at just how fluid, painful and cool it came out looking.
Huh. Cheered me up a fair deal. Terrified of failing my tests but comic is something I can be proud of at least.
.... Also on the list of "Stuff that cheers me up," just got back from Spidey-2. Just... Wow. The comic books of Spider-Man for the last ten years have been garbage. Deals with Satan? Brain-swapped with Doc Ock for two years? Screw that! Let's have a movie that encompasses compelling drama, meaningful characters, a twisting, intruiging plot, and sense of friggin' FUN! Just... Why couldn't the comic books be like this? Marvel Editorial can just bite me.
Can't see Spidey yet myself, be a week or two. Can't wait.
Anyway, yeah, this page was the first time we really ran into some problems shading, that conveniently were resolved in part because MS glitched up pretty badly on me prompting me to save a mostly-done backup copy of the page.
On my 3DS so I need to be brief, will leave it to that. Hope everyone keeps on reading!
Idea on the second panel is that Nimble's bending out of the way of that arrow embedded in the wall.
