Despite the suddenness of it, a lot of thought and consideration went into this moment. I wondered for a while exactly how to introduce this character; originally I was gonna go with a completely different means toward it, to the point that I even had a script written up for it back in the Icy Blue chapter, but ultimately decided to leave it sitting for a bit longer. But here he is now. ^^
Absolutely love the coloring job on this. The use of light and shadow was actually outlined in the script, which is fairly rare; his entrance is marked with a sudden bright light that almost changes the color pallet with how extreme it is. The streetlamp falling on him in the last panel... Yeah, trying to make sure the guy leaves an impression, since plans with him are fairly ambitious. ^^
Are some points I can bring up about his design too, but... Think I should probably wait a bit for more to be revealed on this guy. Were a few different influences and ideas put into practice for him. Again, he had more thought put into him than you might think at first glance.
This is one of those pages where every step I'm really eager for it. With the script, we both were eager to see the lineart, with the lineart we were both eager to see it in color, with it in color we were both eager to get it posted. Usually that's the sign something's a winner. ^^
Honestly not really entirely happy with this one myself. Not sure why, but I dunno. Maybe I overdid it on the glow or something.
Wait, did I not detail this one? Doesn't look like I did. That kind of just makes it worse.
Anyway, yeah, order of the day on this one was to really play up the contrast in the lighting. Originally I went much darker with it, but Adam wound up toning it down when I sent the page to him. Probably just as well, when I looked again at the page later to get some colors from it it really was incredibly dark.
