This one was very down to the wire, cover was only actually finished this morning and the idea wasn't hit on until just before it was drawn. Name was also pretty late in being come up with. Most of the chapter proper's been done if you're worrying about that, just Blues tends to have covers and titles come up with once they're already underway unlike WaR and BP which start at the title and cover.
Kind of a fitting approach for the chapter proper, the way the whole thing with the cover played out. This chapter is a little bit directionless and winds up sort of being rushed through as a result.
Not to say we're completely unhappy with it of course, there is some stuff coming hopefully everyone will enjoy, just on the whole, fair warning, is kind of a weak one.
Really on both counts. I don't know what I was thinking on some of the coloring since some of the color balance in the chapter's been pretty screwy. Fortunately noticed in advanced and that'll be getting tweaked a little bit before it actually goes up.
Yeah, again, this is kind of my least favorite chapter in the comic thus far. It's short at least; one of the shortest in the series.
I can't really say it's a failure, though. The whole reason I'm putting this chapter in here instead of just pushing on to the next one, which was the original plan, was to establish Marvelous Man's character and let us get a chance to know sort of what he's like, juxtaposed with a little something that happens periodically at the Blues school. And... Yeah, we did get those two accomplished, just wish they had worked out better.
I dunno, I do hope folks will enjoy it, at least. In a sense, it almost feels like the awkward, directionless first chapter of an entirely new comic. Which sorta fits. It'll make more sense when you've read it.
Either way, do appreciate Martin's work on this, especially since the coloring on this chapter was sort of a rush job. ^^ Hell, even the title of the chapter was last minute. He came up with that one too.
