Meet Martina Ferguza. The name isn't a Take That or anything, more payback for naming a(n admittedly awesome) villain in Wright As Rayne after me.
While I can always count on Martin to do a good coloring job, there are times when he sends me back something and I just fall in love with it. I guess I should let him explain it, but the eclipse motif on those robes were entirely his doing. ^^ They wound up being a heavy influence on every appearence of the character later on in the chapter.
As for the priestess herself, don't wanna get into her influences just yet, but visually I took a lot of cues in her design from Galadriel.
Martin also gave me some advice to how to tweak the script on this comic, and result was much better than what it was originally, I think.
Fittingly for being named after the colorist, Martina tends to be a nightmare to color.
Still, it does look good, and it makes for some nice visual dynamics that wouldn't really come up otherwise. If memory serves way back when she more often wore pink - worth noting she also used to be called Innards as a beta version of the character, where only a few traits of that depiction have survived and the ones that made that name relevant are among them.
Anyway, will be seeing a lot of this group in this chapter, but for now this is the only page with her for around three weeks. Just an FYI there.
