I was really, really debating if that bullet should've hit Marvelous Man's forehead and "killed" him. Would've been such a creepier, more ominous image and you guys are all obviously smart enough to know this is a psychic illusion. It's just that the page after this cuts to the Center and that would've been a really creepy note to cut away on.
Do really like getting into why Insomniac is here, though. Don't wanna try and make him look heroic; this is kind of anger at the injustice for what happened to him. But given just what was done to him.... Yeah, it's kinda understandable that he's pissed.
In general does Marvelous Man get too much screentime on the comic? The whole character/story arc I'm doing with the guy demands a lot of time to develop where he's going, and like I've been saying the fight with him and the Insomniac is something I've been wanting to get to for a while. But at the same time I really don't wanna make the kids side-characters in their own friggin' comic. Once I got into the groove of goofy Halloween fun at the center I honestly didn't wanna cut back to the fight.
At least after this chapter the comic will stop feeling like it's being split between two plots. It'll... Well, will get more into that as we go. ^^
Not sure how much I have to say on this one, but I do like the rather weird, creepy atmosphere of this whole thing. Comes off a little like McCay decided to frame his method of attack for the holiday. And hey, get that shot from the cover in! People dressing as the various members of the WaR cast is not likely to follow. Except for Xandy as Alex, anyway.
This one wound up being kind of needlessly time-consuming to color mostly due to my own fault, did some planning and workarounds for the TV that wound up not being necessary because Adam had done some work that would trivialize that that I hadn't noticed until I was basically done. No huge deal there though, just did a little unnecessary tedium.
But yeah, curious how people feel about the frequent Marvelous Man interludes, especially as of late where I'm pretty certain he got more screentime alone than the main group besides Jake as a whole did in the previous chapter. There is a purpose to it all, of course, and we have a lot of things in mind for down the line on this arc, but little curious what the ride getting there is like.
I get it is just a psychic illusion but a part of me wonders if the Insomniac didn't use an actual gun to reinforce the point. Make him really bleed a little and show him he isn't this perfectly godly untouchable thing. I honestly feel that yes, there has been a ton of Marvelous Man, but it feels like things are finally coming to a head. Sometimes an adversary really does need that room to breathe and be shown to the audience like this especially when it is clear we are on a collision course.
And I say adversary as we all know MM might try and not hurt the kids at first but after awhile I don't know how well he'd keep a handle on himself. As it is obvious the Insomniac will be leaving him, effectively unchained, for his date. A perfect time to see who he truly is when he is faced with the kids. Will he realize he is just a bully? Will he simply go too far defending himself in some misunderstood situation? Or will we see MM stands for Massive Monster? I can't wait!!

All the same, appreciate the thoughts on his screentime. Is something that's been nagging at me.
