Really like how this page came out. ^^ Is just a transitional page showing how they get from one scene to the other, but has a lot of little touches in it that I think make it work.
I like the little touches of continuity; Andy brings up Jenny's rapid-fire-fisticuffs on The Insomniac... We see Nicky's crush on Jenny... That hasn't really been brought up directly since it first got alluded to. Kinda glad to finally be acknowledging it a little. ^^
You'll notice that since they're gearing up to look into things, the kids have ditched the more cumbersome parts of their costumes. Lore lost the hat and cape, Jenny's ditched the baubles and tiara, Nicky took off the Yoshi head, and Valerie lost that band-thing. The fact that each of these items were really annoying to draw and color is purely a coincidence.
St. Patrick's, by the way, is an actual hospital here in Lake Charles where my Mom used to work. Didn't realize that was what I called this hospital until I went back and checked on the one Aurora is staying at. For the record, there ARE other hospitals in Stonewall, just Aurora, Susan, and Quartz all being at the same one is lazy writing.
I gotta admit, I'm finding it harder and harder to have the kids find out about crimes so they can go and fight it. Having them be secret means I can't give them a "blue-signal."
Not sure how much I've got to say on this one offhand. Took me a good while to get around to finishing coloring it, guess there's that. Less a sign of how busy it is, since it isn't hugely, and more just kind of all the backgrounds and a recent focus on other stuff on my part.
Funny thing is the one time I could think of we could see the outside of the hospital previously it was a very, very dark shot and you were just seeing a single wall, so wasn't the easiest to track that particular reference down.
Don't know what else I've got but I hope everyone enjoys it.
I find it odd how Nicky thinks being bullet proof protects Marvelous Man when Lore is likely the most indestructible on the team with her super strength which would require some heightened endurance to withstand her own muscular strain and force, especially when performing her more recently learned super jump. Insomniac made Lore forget she was super strong while simultaneously keeping the city under and messing with the rest of them all at once. Without all that distraction and forcing all his focus on the one person it seems perfectly believable Insomniac could at least do some damage.
And MM is standing guard in an Insomniac driven trance...okay, starting to see how they are going to wind up fighting. Not that I don't think Lore would be glad for any excuse to give him a solid smack.
Heh. Maybe he just figures there's no way for Marvelous Man to be injured physically, so there's no worry about danger. ^^
But yeaaaah, that's kinda the reason why he had to drive him in the last comic. I do like the "sleep deprivation means no driving" excuse but was the real meaning behind it.
