Heh. Awesome comments on that last page, guys. ^^ Had a lot of fun reading those.
Like a friggin' idiot I forgot the smoke on Stickset's cigarette. Thank God I had Martin to cover me. Half-surprised I remembered to censor her swearing in that one panel.
One touch that wasn't in the script but kinda came about in drawing was Jake's expression in Panel 4. It's just after Stickset mentions the kids need to give up being heroes but look at him. He knows instantly she's right.
Marvelous Man, meanwhile.... More on that next week.
Really did enjoy Stickset here; this has been a pretty serious chapter so we really could've used some levity. Even her demanding the kids stop being heroes is kinda funny. "Forget people in trouble! What'll happen to ME?!" is the kind of thing Daffy Duck would say. Even the way she's sheepishly lighting a cigarette behind her hands in the first panel... She's not even supposed to smoke in the school, I think she just figured, "Eh, everybody's breaking the law and blackmailing everyone else; might as well light up."
.... Heh. I think the reason Stickset has so many "shouting" speech bubbles is that we had just started doing the thicker lines on the balloons and I wanted to see how it looked.
Admittedly this chapter kind of keeps being more and more awkward for me to comment on. Kind of just keep parroting points and weighing in on things Adam already pretty well covered.
Do like how this one came out though, if only for that pair of shots of the seven all assembled together. Kind of really makes them come off as a unit on this whole matter, really willing to stand together and the like.
Think anything else I could say is kind of more appropriate for the next one, but do hope everyone enjoys and is sure to swing by next time.
And... I still don't like MM. Also, Stickset has a tattoo! Panel 5!
