Eheh... It's weird how we're getting so much WaR-related information, but this was something I wanted to go into. Ivy League is a character from the comic I really like and wanted to go into her a bit.
This page even got re-written a bit because I was afraid it made Ivy look too directly evil. She's not someone who FORCES people to quit, but just intentionally makes the job harder to raise the standards. I think there's something admirable about that in a Klingon sort of way.
I mean, you can still make the argument "Who died and made her super-hero queen" but I imagine her response would be "If you disagree, beat me in a fight." Even though Alex said she'd come after Grant if she kenw about him, I get the feeling she'd really hate Marvelous Man's behind-closed-doors, call-your-parents way of handling it. In a twisted way, she'd respect the kids enough to go after them with her fists. Shutting them down like that with phone calls is for wimps.
Again, unqualified heroes are something I wanna discuss further in the comic, but we'll get to that later.
No color version of the sepia ones this time since I just worked from the previous panel in terms of getting the look right. Not all direct lifts or anything but it was useful for kind of setting a baseline to get the overall look right. Lot of sepia in the comics lately.
I don't think we really necessarily have anything lined up in the plans right at this moment but I wouldn't at all be surprised if Ivy League ends up directly appearing in Blues at some point. I guess technically she already has since we saw her reacting to Marvelous Man's debut, but I'd figure at some point down the line we'll end up doing something or other with her meeting the kids.
Ivy League's motives are something intended to be explored as WaR goes along but she's a good illustration of kind of an overall point with the current story arc here - a lot of people have their own interpretations of what qualifies someone properly to be a superhero and being licensed or not isn't at all what makes or breaks someone's ability to do the job.
I get the feeling Ivy League would go after them and Marvelous Man personally. I don’t thinks she’d care for the guy whose only endorsement is he was a ‘successful soldier’ and such and for it being in good with government types appears to be his only credentials. I think she would take pleasure in making his job miserable. Then go and break all the kids arms.
Mind you with the kids I think it’d be tough love to protect them. Better a broken limb than dead after all.
Heh. Ivy DID give the guy a talking to when he cameoed briefly in Wright as Rayne...

But think she might be just soft enough to not break anything. Probably not do anything like Marvelous Man on Halloween night. It helps that after talking to Martin found out she had really funny methods of tormenting a person without attacking them. Will have to go into that sometime. ^^

MM is a douchebag, but she sounds like a total bitch.
