Funny enough after the previous delay this one had its own issues. Long and short I'd been going through gout issues for a few days - it's mostly passed now - and I was super unsure if I was going to be able to focus long enough to color this and WaR while dealing with it.
WaR I kind of had to push myself on (and had to get Adam to do the shading on it solo - typically he does the prep work for it and then I put it in the proper colors and often spruce it up a bit), but it'd passed enough by the time it came to Blues that it was pretty straightforward to do, albeit kind of last minute. Issue's largely passed now as said so shouldn't be a problem going forward, the last WaR page of the current chapter is on Monday so should have more breathing room with Blues after that.
Not a gigantic amount to say on this page itself admittedly, though happy with it. Admittedly feeling a little tempted to edit the shading on this one now that I notice the robot doesn't have any in this page, guess an oversight on both our parts there.
I really have no clue what's with the thin lines that've been showing up in the new way of doing Jenny's run effect. Might need to screw around with MS later and see if I can figure out a way around that, it doesn't really show until being exported.
Okay, I think I've figured out the formula for Blues events. You take the list of cool moments/attacks/stuff you want to see (X) and the amount of time you want to sink into the fight (Y), find out which one's the priority, and work around that. This one made that point obvious by way of having X be much bigger than Y, and so consolidating them was actually pretty challenging. We'll get into the why of that in a bit.
Given I was originally gonna take an entirely different direction for this fight (again, can discuss exactly why next update), I was pretty stunned with just how many fun/goofy/clever ideas I had for it. That line Andy has in the first panel about how much he missed fighting bad guys with the kids? Those're my thoughts about this fight scene. ^^ I wasn't prepared for how much I missed the kids kicking butt. So I pretty much had to reign myself in to keep this fight from going bananas.
Andy's staff being able to turn into a sword was something I really wanted to bring up, though. I'd wanted to give Andy a sword anyway since he's a ninja and swords are cool, and this felt like a way more natural way for him to have one on-hand without always needing to look like he was waiting to chop somebody up. ^^
