Either way, yeah. A lot of the first couple of pages are going to be devoted to establishing a lot about Rick. Like Martin said, he's horny and brainless. As you can tell from him casually insulting two clearly-superpowered thugs who are much bigger than him and clearly cant' stand him.
That said, am trying to play him as a chivalrous pervert if possible. Originally I was gonna have him hugging that random waitress in the last panel, but casually befriending her felt more respectful. I'm trying to play him as probably too friendly for his own good but also having an idea of boundaries. .... Yeah, expect a good few Pet the Dog moments from him since I wanna show him as brainless but nice deep down.
The idea of Rick being a cinephile is illustrated a bit too, as you can see from the big posters for E.T. and Goodfellas in his apartment.
Because the casino has a hell theme (and yes, because Cuphead) the enforcers working for it have nick-names based on demons, hence Baphy and B.Bub. if you're curious the visual starting-points for them were Sheeva and Sabretooth respectively.

The weirdness levels are going to shoot past Pluto long before this chapter is over, what in the world is going to happen next.

So yeah, we're following Rick for this one! Right off the bat think this page establishes a few key things about him... namely that he's kind of an easygoing layabout and a total lech. Kind of hoping that last point isn't too much of a turnoff because... Yeah, Rick is going to be spending a fair bit of the start of this chapter hitting on women. ... Admittedly you should probably have expected that if you read Wright as Rayne given his reaction to being asked what he wanted by a supernatural figure he summoned was to ask for crazy chicks, and for that matter he made some pretty sleazy comments in some of the blogs. Not a tactful guy.
We are really hoping people are going to like him though, might take a few pages to really show it but there is certainly more to him. Hoping people enjoy the ride while we're with him.
Funny thing, we were going to have Rick have visibly hairy legs in the second panel, but in execution it just looked like he had old man legs so we cut it.
