Hey, look, we have an actual sighting of the kids! ... Well, two of them. Don't worry, we'll be seeing the group together starting on page 2 of the chapter, this isn't gonna be like the last one by any means.

We're both really happy with this one. Admittedly probably could've gone more detailed with the windows than we did, but do still rather like the more varied building structure here and the way the fire came out. Speaking of the fire, for some reason right as I was finishing that Manga Studio just up and closed itself out on me, so I had to redo it. Fortunately I had saved before the fire so that was all I actually had to redo but did kind of freak me out a second. ... Then shortly after that Adam had to redo an entire commission for similar reasons.

Not sure how much I have to say about this one beyond that, but do hope that everyone enjoys. Anyone have any theories on this mysterious coat-wearing individual?

Heheh... Yeah, seriously LOOK at those buildings. This is a great effect to make Sapphire City pop; in a weird way this chapter'll have more focus on the city itself, and looking at the skyline felt like a fun way of highlighting it. ^^

Buildings tend to be really irritating to draw, and I'd be lying if I said this wasn't tedious... But I think I learned a fair deal putting this together, and it was one of those "Now that I've done something this big, it's not as intimidating" sort of deals. In general, a lot of cornerstones turned in our art start with them being something we openly dread and then suddenly aren't so scared of. Cars, for example. ^^

Sapphire City is sort of based off my nostalgic teenage memories of Houston, so remember looking up the skyline to get a good idea of how best to draw it. Honestly, looking at it now, it really takes me back. I can remember looking out the window of my uncle's house or walking around my dad's apartment complex, seeing the towering buildings of the city... Jeez.

But enough about that, who's this myserious figure? Someone old or new? Who cares; I LOVE the blue flame effect. Looks so much better than the red flame and just fits so nicely with the buildings. ^^

Hope you folks enjoy this next chapter. Hoping it'll be action packed. ^^
