.... Jeez, there's like three distinct things I'm trying to lay the seeds for in this page. I just realized in setting this up how loaded this page was with stuff I wanna dive into later.

But yeah, again, Decay Conductor shows off just how dangerous her powers are, and how much combat skill she has; transmuting the face paint into a substance that catches fire in contact with air. Ability to "Change anything I touch into anything else" is such an overwhelmingly destructive and violent power and it's really fun going all the way into how horrible that ability would be in the hands of a psychopath like her. It helps that she's apparently got some real moves; is able to casually dodge attacks from Lore and Andy, even when the former is Flash-Stepping. Swinging Lore around like a flail was pretty fun. ^^ You can just picture her being slammed head-first into the pavement.

Crimson Blade is yet another unlicensed hero to crop up after Marvelous Man's defeat, and she's been making rather regular appearances throughout this story arc...

Honestly until Martin pointed it out, hadn't realized just how much set-up I'd given her... Her whole deal is to be overly dangerous and under-trained. You can also tell I didn't really have an idea on her outfit when I first drew her; I was sort of just pushing the pen around lazily and came up with this thrown-together look that Decay Conductor is mocking. Even her power of over-heating metal came after I thought up the name "Crimson Blade" and tried to think of a way for the power to work in retrospect.

Speaking of, holy CRUD. LOOK at that fire! Martin found a new way of doing it that I just friggin' love. It actually looks hot. Like, putting your hand in there would be painful. Absolutely love the effect.

About all I have to say on this paricular page, but do love the result. I think I like the gag on Decay Conductor struggling to think of a good way to mock Crimson Blade's costume, like she doesn't know which element to lay into.

Funny, Adam had a lot to say but not really entirely sure what to comment on here myself. Very happy with the page though, think has some good effects to it and while I think it's kind of up and down I think this page is the first time I've really done fire that I think looks passable. Kind of something I've consistently struggling with.

... Funny enough though I think the panel where it looks best is actually the sixth, where I botched how I was doing it compared to all the others and accidentally drew over the template Adam had put in place instead of doing it on a higher layer. Something to learn from I think, that.

All I've really got offhand. Funny enough at the moment we're messing around with some experimenting on a fairly major change to the art that we're wondering about integrating into the comics sooner rather than later. So that might bare keeping an eye out for in case it pans out.

Cotton, you say? Oho, methinks I know the weakness of Decay Conductor.

Now why would cotton throw her off, and in the first panel that looks like one of the weird things that appeared with Blasco.

If she superheats what she touches then i doubt face fire would slow her down. If she didnt have fire resistance to some degree then she would be constantly burning herself. Prolonged use of that sword would remove her own hands.
Atleast the facepaint wasnt turned into acid or teargas.

Heh. I'm gonna pull out the explanation that she's got a resistance to intense flame but not an immunity, and having her face set on fire is still overly dangerous and potentially fatal if not smothered immediately.
