Hey, we're back! Yeah, kind of just an inconvenient time for dental work that sort of ended up pushing everything back, particularly as we had other things on our plate at the same time; it was kind of a gradual process returning to normal and WaR was just kind of lighter by comparison so it was easier to resume work on, thus the gap in when the comics resumed.

So yeah, this is a moment we've been building up to for a good while and hey, good excuse to show off Protocol's new eye design! Yeah, we did this as part of prepping for the stats filler but it just wound up not being shown until now. Think this is actually the first she's been seen in-story without the helmet on since Grant and Lore first met her. Sort of awkward how that works - she's the kind of consummate professional who has little reason to take her helmet off but she does look good without it.

Since it was our first real time trying out Gibraltar since the art style changes I wanted to mix things up here, try to hit on a winning way to do his skin. Think I got it pretty good here but had to leave myself a note in the Manga Studio file for this page explaining how I did it for future reference. Just kind of a funny aside that.

Lore's costume feels a lot more colorful without the cape. Guess just due to not having the dark blue nearly as prominently.

Heheh... Yeah, bit of a klunky transition there but whatever, we're back and running smoothly now. ^^ That said, this is one of those weird pages where commenting on it specifically is gonna be rather hard since a lot of the important stuff is in the follow through. One thing I'll point out is that Lore's acted consistently irritated at the Peacekeepers' presence even though Protocol has been entirely professional about this. She even seemed willing to hear them out here, while realizing that the other hero group needed to be teleported out right away.

Speaking of, was an easy thing to write in, Crimson Blade being 'ported to an emergency room between pages. Smooth to work in... Curious how/if Lore is going to get her cape back. Though Jenny will need a new helmet too, come to think of it. Clothing damage is fun to do but the consequences tend to be weird if you think about them.

After their initial fumbling I tried to make the Blues kids look like a particular blend of competent while still showing the team has a lot of room to improve. Hope that worked out, especially since I want to use Decay Conductor in future chapters. Character just steals the spotlight effortlessly when she's onscreen.

Speaking on the unique eyes, Flagstone, the other hero being featured here, has the eyes of Alex Louis Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist. Just threw those onto him casually and didn't expect him to have so many close-ups.
