Heh... You know Grant's homelife is unfortunate when he winds up being the one kid who's younger than at least one of his parents. Yeah, his Mom came out at 12, and is still very much in control of the situation.

For as much as Grant's parents come off bad, I kind of like to emphasize that his Mom does seem to genuinely care about him. I've come to think that she's really just a spiteful and antagonistic person in general, and whatever niceness she has inside her doesn't extend much further than her son. Despite making these calls herself, she seems to have total confidence that her son can fix the problem and is counting on him to do so.

I dunno, in general I think Gail has more depth than she usually shows off, but a lot of her relationship with Grant is still defined by being distant, so it's still not something she gets a lot of chances to delve into.

Meanwhile, yeah, turns out Valerie hasn't checked up on either Nicky or her parents which.... does that make her look too mean? I think it's somewhat understandable given they're estranged anyway and she's clearly had a lot to deal with already, but I think Jenny's still pretty up-front for calling her on it.

This is a pretty big fun fanservice chapter, so yeah. Vespi and Lenore have both been clearly marked for cameos. Two popular characters, one of which hasn't been seen in a while, so it'll be neat to see more. ^^

Again, phone-tag pages are eating up a lot of time, but I am enjoying getting a chance to check in on how everyone's family is doing. At least there's only one page left of doing this.

Yeah, looks like Grant's having a pretty rough go of it - doesn't even really get to relish the role reversal any since his mom's still older than him and still barking out orders. I do though like that she trusts him to fix it and does talk up how this can be potentially beneficial for him. To a lesser extent his dad's also doing that, though he has less of a presence in the page on the whole and all.

Speaking of parents, yeah, it makes sense that Val's parents really didn't even cross her mind. Does maybe register a little oddly she didn't think of Nicky though given she's usually been pretty protective of him, though maybe at this point she just trusts him enough on a subconscious level that she figured he could handle it.

It's sort of funny, the previous Wright as Rayne page we added a white border around the phonecall heads but that isn't showing up until the next Blues one. Guess just comes down to when the pages were colored since it was something I opted to do of my own accord in post instead of something planned going in.

Jenny's really running up the hugs in this chapter, huh? She's done it in every page she's in so far.

Poor Grant he cannot catch a break when it comes to his parents, wonder what's going to happen next.

I am kind of hoping Grant stand up to his mom now that you've liked this and put her in her place. I don't mean that as a sexist thing.

Grant's Mom, despite her clear confidence that he can handle it... She's still kind of a bitch. And I don't like her. XD

Grant's Dad at least seems to be somewhat enjoying this. I'm pretty sure at this point, Grant likely gets his nerd parts from his dad. Though I really hope one day, he can break the ice of his mother.

Awww I was hoping for Grant to be on the phone up in the air and his mom on her tippy-toes trying to reach it with a pout on her face and being kind of a brat as her husband is just sitting there taking a picture.

Honestly I think there could be something mentally wrong with Grant's mother, I mean there were hints that something was wrong with her before she finally made a proper appearance in the comic.

You know I like the different perspectives of Grant's mom in this, I mean in her adult form she comes off as a Bitch that needs a talking too. But here she comes off as a brat that needs a good spanking.
